In the United States of America, President Donald Trump announced last
Thursday a trade deal with our brothers in the United Kingdom (See
ZeroHedge—Trump Hails U.S.-U.K. Trade Deal As "Breakthrough", Says Lower Barriers
Will Unlock Transatlantic Growth). Of course, this is not unexpected.
Tariffs can have both positive and negative effects on a nation's economy.
Positive effects include protecting domestic industries, creating jobs, and
reducing trade deficits. However, risks include higher consumer prices, supply
chain disruptions, and potential trade wars with key partners. That said, I
continue to support the greatest US President since Abraham Lincoln, or even
Ronald Reagan. Nations around the world will still desire and need to trade
with the US, or many of their economies would collapse. Even though many
nations appear upset with the Trump Administration, we should expect to see
many more nations make trade deals with the US.
Perhaps this trade deal with the United Kingdom will show just what the Trump
Administration is looking for from Canada.
Also in the news ── Australia just had its election, similar to Canada. They
elected a more left-leaning candidate as Prime Minister. Anthony Albanese
claimed victory as the first Australian prime minister
to clinch a second consecutive term in 21 years. (See:
The Wall Street Journal -
First Canada, Now Australia: The Trump Factor Boosts Another World Leader
in an Election).
Voters in Australia, like those in Canada, rejected a candidate who held
positions as those of US President Donald Trump.
May 3, 2025The Australian Electoral Commission’s projections gave Albanese’s ruling center-left Labor Party 70 seats and the conservative opposition coalition 24 seats in the 150-seat House of Representatives, the lower chamber where parties need a majority to form governments. Unaligned minor parties and independent candidates appeared likely to win 13 seats.Meanwhile, Liberal-National Coalition leader Peter Dutton has lost his seat of Dickson, in Brisbane, to Labor’s Ali France. …Opposition Liberal Party spokesman, Senator James Paterson, defended the conservative campaign, which he also said was negatively affected by “the Trump factor”. “It was devastating in Canada for the conservatives … I think it has been a factor here, just how big a factor will be determined in a few hours’ time,” he told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).“Trump had a massive effect in changing people’s perception of risk,” election analyst Tony Barry told the ABC. …Dutton had proposed slashing the federal education department as part of his pledge to sack 41,000 public servants, a move Labor has described as being pulled “from the DOGE playbook.”
There has been issues other than trade that has caused Australians to not like
the policies of US President Donald Trump. Yet, despite their views of
President Donald Trump, Australians are still highly dependent on trade and a
military ally of the United States of America.
We are all partners ── Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and
the United States are all part of the “Five Eyes” (FVEY) anglosphere
intelligence alliance. And this is not expected to change anytime soon.
It’s interesting to note ── it’s very possible that if President Donald Trump
had not been elected, according to some early polls, both Canada and Australia
could have elected less left-leaning leaders.
May 3, 2025Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has become the first Australian prime minister to win a second consecutive three-year term in 21 years. …The Australian Electoral Commission’s projections gave Albanese’s ruling center-left Labor Party 70 seats and the conservative opposition coalition 24 seats in the 150-seat House of Representatives, the lower chamber where parties need a majority to form governments. Unaligned minor parties and independent candidates appeared likely to win 13 seats. …Labor argues Dutton’s administration would slash services to pay for its nuclear ambitions.“We’ve seen the attempt to run American-style politics here of division and pitting Australians against each other, and I think that’s not the Australian way,” Albanese said.Albanese also noted that his government had improved relations with China, which removed a series of official and unofficial trade barriers that had cost Australian exporters 20 billion Australian dollars ($13 billion) a year since Labor came to power in 2022.
Like Australia’s Peter Dutton, Canada’s main opposition leader Pierre
Poilievre lost his seat in last Monday’s election ── apparently because of
what is being called the “Trump Effect.”
Here in the United States of America, we call it the “Trump Derangement
Syndrome”! It appears to be spreading worldwide! Fareed Zakaria, host of
CNN
– the American journalist, political commentator, and author, has defined the
term as “hatred of President Trump so intense that it impairs people’s
judgment.” Our people are literally losing their minds!
Some most fantastic news ── the terrorist group Hamas releases Edan Alexander,
the last living American hostage, to Israel! “I’m very happy to announce that
Edan Alexander, an American citizen who until recently most thought was no
longer living, thought was dead, is going to be released in about two hours,”
President Donald Trump said at a press conference Monday morning. “He’s coming
home to his parents, which is great news.” He had been held 584 days in
captivity! We pray for him and his family's well-being and safety. God Bless!
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has warned us that there would be a time when
we would “hear of wars and rumors of wars.” As did the early apostles
of the first century AD. But, He went on to tell us, “See that you are not
troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” We
are witnessing this. Soon ── the next step in our ‘beginning of sorrows’ will
come.
“’ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
…’”
And we are willing to suggest that this is our Lord Jesus referring to
the end-time world war prophesied in Daniel 11:40 ── the end-time king of the
North (a United States of Europe) against an end-time king of the South (a
confederate of Islamic Nations) – Matthew 24:7. JUDAH (the tiny nation in the
Middle East known as Israel) has been planning militarily to take even more
steps in securing any more damage or threats coming from the Gaza Strip and
the terrorist group Hamas. (See: Euronews –
Israeli cabinet approves plan to seize all of Gaza Strip, reports
claim).
Hamas breaking another ceasefire should be no surprise ── they are under the
influence of their god (cf. 2 Corinthians 4:4).
Shortly before Resident Joe Biden left his basement, he had stated that a
ceasefire deal was how a “permanent peace” would be attained in that region.
Well … only the glorious and powerful return of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ will bring lasting and “permanent peace”!
Now, I, too, agree ── that when it comes to the Gaza Strip, we need to think
outside the box. Notice this from the Associated Press ──
May 7, 2025… Founded in the late 1980s, the Islamic militant group — which does not accept Israel’s existence — is deeply rooted in Palestinian society, with an armed wing, a political party, media, and charities. Over 18 years of rule in Gaza, it built a network of underground tunnels, rocket launchers, and weapons caches — some of which remain intact despite Israel’s campaign.(https://apnews.com/article/gaza-war-netanyahu-hamas-israel-ceasefire-595b92c10bddc4f3e7008710792e7877)
Recall ── In 1994, Israel withdrew from Gaza City and Jericho, giving civilian
and city functions to the Palestinian National Authority (PNA). What have they
done with it? They allowed the terrorist Islamic group Hamas to take over and
take control. There are now Israeli plans on the table to completely retake
the Gaza Strip!
Sadly, prophetically, good things will not turn out as many Israeli officials
hope.
God’s living word actually speaks of Gaza and the Palestinians
prophetically ── inspired by God’s Spirit, the Prophet Zechariah has a
two-fold change coming to Gaza ──
“’ Ashkelon shall see it and fear; Gaza also shall be very
sorrowful; And Ekron, for He dried up her expectation. The
king shall perish from Gaza, And Ashkelon shall not be
inhabited.
6) A mixed race shall settle in Ashdod, And I will cut off the pride of the
Philistines. 7) I will take away the blood from his mouth, And the
abominations from between his teeth. But he who remains, even he shall be
for our God, And shall be like a leader in JUDAH, And Ekron
like a Jebusite.
8) I will camp around My house Because of the army, Because of him who
passes by and him who returns. No more shall an oppressor pass through them,
For now I have seen with My eyes.’”
– Zechariah 9:5-8.
This is a two-fold prophecy. It had an earlier fulfillment. Gaza shall be
overthrown. In its earlier fulfillment of this prophecy, after a two-month
siege, Gaza was taken by Alexander the Great, king of Macedon. Betis was the
satrap, or its “king,” a eunuch and commander of the city of Gaza in the
Achaemenid Empire. He was executed after the lengthy siege of Gaza in 332 BC.
Well… Yahya Sinwar, you best make some travel plans ── and as we say here in
the West, “Get outta Dodge!” 1
As far as “like a Jebusite,” – the Jebusites were the original inhabitants of
JERUSALEM, who, when the LORD God told the children of Israel to drive out the
Jebusites from the land, the children of Israel came to occupy – cf. Joshua
3:10. The land was given to the children of Israel by the LORD God.
The Prophet Amos also recorded this two-fold prophecy concerning Gaza ──
Turn back, if you would, to Amos chapter 1. Keep in mind, armies are going to
surround Jerusalem BEFORE the ‘abomination of desolation.’ Jesus said,
‘When you see the armies surround, know that the desolation is near, but not
yet.’ And, I want to give you the time setting of the Book of Amos. Chapter 5,
verses 18-20 it specifically talks about the Day of the Lord. That’s
end-time prophecy, getting near the end of the end-time prophecies! Verse 3 –
“Thus says the LORD: ‘For three transgressions of Damascus [or Syria], and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they have
threshed Gilead [the Holy Land]
with implements of iron. 4) But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael,
Which shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad. 5) I will also break the gate
bar of Damascus. And cut off the inhabitant from the Valley of Aven, And the
one who holds the scepter from Beth Eden. The people of Syria shall go
captive …’”
And then He goes on in Verse 6 to Gaza – Gaza is obviously what? The Gaza
Strip, the Hamas-led Palestinians.
“…I will not turn away its punishment, Because they took captive the whole
captivity To deliver them up to Edom [or Turkey].” Verse 7 – “’ But I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, Which shall devour its
palaces [its buildings]. 8) I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod
[another Palestinian-held territory now], … from Ashkelon; … Ekron, And
the remnant of the Philistines [Palestinians]
shall perish.’ Says the Lord GOD.”
– Amos 1:3-8.
The Gaza Strip will be taken back over by Israel by military force if
necessary.
In other news ── regarding the hearing of wars and rumors of wars, the United
States of America has been massively bombing the Houthis. Another
terrorist Islamic political and military organization that emerged from Yemen
(or rather the “bottomless pit”) back in the 1990s. They have “agreed” to stop
attacking US-owned vessels in the Red Sea. But the Houthis struck again! (See:
BBC –
Netanyahu vows response after Houthi missile hits near Israel's main
airport).
The United States of America has been relentlessly bombing the Houthis and is
holding Iran directly responsible for the attacks by the Houthis. President
Donald Trump says the US to stop attacking Houthis in Yemen as
the group has ‘capitulated.’
Like other terrorist groups, notice this slogan from the Houthis called the
Sarkha ── Modeled on a motto from Iran. “Allah is the Greatest, Death to
America, Death to Israel, A Curse Upon the Jews, Victory to Islam.”

Designated ── and rightly so ── as a
Foreign Terrorist Organization, the Houthis are clear enemies of the United States of America and
Israel.
We believe that the Houthis are nothing more than an Iranian proxy carrying
out what Iran wants done.
God’s living word shows us that the LORD God will allow what looks to
be an Iranian-led confederation of Islamic nations to strike and greatly
damage Israel ──
“Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered
the shield. 7) It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be
full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the
gate.”
Continuing with verses 8 & 9 –
“He [Almighty God]
removed the protection of JUDAH. You looked in that day to the armor of the
House of the Forest; 9) You also saw
the damage to the city of David, That it was great; …”
– Isaiah 22:6-9.
Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran.
The Houthis are directly tied to Iran, so they may certainly help fulfill
Iran’s desire ── “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” —is the
version that has circulated among English speakers HERE IN THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA, expressing solidarity with terrorism since at least the 1990s.
“Great damage” is going to come to the city of David ── Jerusalem. Will this
great damage be caused by nuclear? There's a good possibility.
The Middle East remains an area to watch. □
