Let’s begin in Germany. The recent election in Germany resulted in the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), a far-right, right-wing populist, national conservative political party in Germany, to make great gains (See: DW – Ulrich Siegmund led the AfD to a historic victory in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt).

Germany's shocking far-right surge rattles Europe's political foundations

AfD’s landslide win in Saxony-Anhalt could be the prelude to far-right forces governing alone across Europe. Germany’s ‘grand coalition’ model, and the centrist alliance underpinning EU politics, are starting to crack.

The radical-right Alternative for Germany’s landslide victory in the Saxony-Anhalt region election may be the first real crack in the power structure that has held European politics together since the Second World War.

On Sunday, Alternative for Germany (AfD) won a resounding victory in the eastern German region, taking 43.8% of the vote. Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which leads the governing coalition in Berlin, collapsed to 17.2%, while its junior coalition partner, the Social Democrats (SPD), managed just 9.3%.

For the first time since the Nazi period, a German region could be led by a far-right force, as local leader Ulrich Siegmund could become president if the far-left party BSW decides to support him or to abstain in the election.

“This result is not an outlier – it is a signal to the rest of Germany and to Europe,” René Aust, the head of the AfD delegation to the European Parliament, told Euronews.

“We are on course to become the country’s leading governing party, and I am convinced that at the next European elections we will return to the European Parliament with more than twice our current strength,” Aust said. …

Again, the “mainstream” press and the political parties within Germany have long been fearing the rise of an AfD candidate. Also, in addition to policy matters, the real worry is that Ulrich Siegmund or someone with his ideas and values from the AfD party will rise and… basically… become the 21st century version of the psychopath ── Adolf Hitler.

A great many in the “mainstream” wants the AfD party outlawed or outright banned. However, such scuttlebutt as that has seemed to have strengthened the resolve and appeal for the AfD.

Speaking shortly after polls closed on Sunday, Belov recalled his earlier assessment that the anti-Russian positions adopted by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul and Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt would benefit the AfD among certain groups of voters. …

Belov argued that the campaign had been unusually dominated by federal issues, despite voters formally electing a state parliament.

“For the first time, the AfD presented itself not merely as a protest party but as a party with governing competence,” he said, identifying migration, education, and Saxony-Anhalt’s economic and political situation as key campaign issues that other parties had failed to address.

Of course, not everyone within Germany is “anti-Russian.” If the AfD ends up working with no other political party, it will have influence and will be somewhat shielded from any political blame if it’s not part of any governing coalition.

This world is changing. Germany is changing. And all of Europe is changing.

Soon, a reorganization of Europe will come ──

“’ The TEN HORNS which you saw are ten kings [or rather, kingdoms; as the LORD God views kingdoms] who have received no kingdom yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings WITH THE BEAST. 13) These are of ONE MIND, and they will give their power and authority to THE BEAST.’” – Revelation 17:12-13.

Now, this reorganization and unity of mind is still years away.

Yet, when you look upon the European political landscape, you see the seeds being planted.

Sadly, just like this evil and vile Democratic Socialist Party within the United States of America, spreading like a pervasive cancer, the AfD party will continue to rise and become ever-more popular among Germans in their Vaterland! Indeed, this rise of the AfD is reminiscent of pre-World War II Germany.

With a view to Germany, Grünewald analysed a growing social unrest: “’ Made in Germany’ is increasingly becoming ‘ailing in Germany’ - and there is suddenly tremendous unrest.” Many people feel that their pent-up energy needs to be “channeled”. The AfD serves a longing for order and direction and “a longing for directional unity.”

In this context, zu Guttenberg warned against meeting this development with silence: “People follow announcements and ideas, they do not follow affect-masturbating quarrelsome.” He therefore called for an “open debate” with the AfD with regard to the Union - across party lines. “This is not a great feat and yet it hardly takes place.”

The CSU politician ruled out political cooperation with the AfD. Extremists belong behind the firewall. However, it is a mistake to draw this wall around AfD voters as well.

Could it be that Herr Guttenberg is still planning on running politically, and becoming more involved in working on the vision of a united Europe, which he hopes will lead to him gaining much support? Herr Guttenberg could be positioning himself as an alternative to the AfD. By the by, the “C” in CSU and the CDU stands for “Christian.” There is soon coming when a final Catholic Vicar for Christ will be more popular than any rock star and will be the “breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.” – Revelation 13:15.

Iceland summons US ambassador after Trump post showing American flag covering island

Iceland’s government called in the U.S. ambassador on Monday after President Trump posted a map showing the Nordic nation blanketed by the American flag.

Trump, who has previously pushed to take over Greenland and Canada, posted an image to Truth Social of the American flag stretching across North America, Greenland, Iceland, Central America and the Caribbean, with the map labeled “United States of America.”

Icelandic Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir summoned U.S. ambassador to Iceland Billy Long over the image, according to Icelandic public broadcaster RUV.

The foreign ministry told the outlet that officials made clear to Long, a former Missouri lawmaker and IRS commissioner who became ambassador in May, that Trump’s post was “completely inappropriate.”

Well… our Trump, the greatest social media troller! White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales previously told the Daily Beast: “Truth Social has never been hotter, and it’s because President Trump offers his unfiltered and direct thoughts to the American people, without the biased media taking him out of context.” 1 To me, it’s sad that so many people ── including a great many professing Christians ── don’t have a clue what President Donald Trump is actually doing. President Trump, in my opinion, is trying to point a finger at the unhinged Democrats and the “libs” and provoking them to tears and the pulling out of their hair!

Sheinbaum Responds to Trump: “Mexico Is Not and Will Not Be a Colony”

Mexico “is not and will not be a colony or protectorate of any foreign country,” declared President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, after U.S. President Donald Trump circulated on social media a map in which Mexico, Canada, Greenland, and other territories appear covered with elements of the United States flag.

And OF COURSE NOT!

She, and many others, needs to learn the phrase, “getting your goat”!

It is true, however, that Mexico is working towards more in trade with the European Union (See: US News – Mexico, EU Sign Stalled Trade Deal as They Aim to Diversify From US). In 2025, Mexico was the largest U.S. trading partner in goods and services, with $976.1 billion in total trade. The U.S. runs a $196 billion goods trade deficit with Mexico, meaning imports far exceed exports. 2 Indeed, an interesting and informative read is from a Brookings commentary by Valeria Moy, “Mexico at a turning point: How tariff realignment can redefine North American trade.” It will help us all understand better the rather complicated dynamics of the Agreement between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and Canada (USMCA).

There is so much Europe and Mexico can offer one another.

But even more importantly, there is so much we can achieve together.

A stronger partnership starts today.

President Donald Trump, either knowingly or unknowingly is changing the world! A question can honestly be asked ── is there any logic to his turning our allies into frenemies, and to winning over our once foes? Or is it simply just the hastening of the decline of American hegemony at the very time when China is matching the US, if not surpassing? It is all too apparent that alliances are being shook up, resettled, and reordered. But what is rather murkier to see, is if it’s permanent, or irreversible.

Yes ── according to Newton’s Third Law, that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, even in politics. Applied to politics, this means no political force acts in isolation — every decision, policy, or move by a government or political actor triggers a counterforce from other actors, institutions, or populations. 3 So, there have been unintended, or intended, consequences of President Donald Trump’s political decisions, policies, and posts. But we will always trust in the Almighty God (Romans 13:1), and we will continue to rely on God’s Spirit to reveal to us His living word, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts” – 2 Peter 1:19.

And we also continue to ‘watch’ as our Lord Jesus Christ has admonished us to do (Mark 13:35-37). □

Terror Was Prophesied

September 11th, 2001, ISLAMIC TERRORISTS hijacked four commercial airliners and used them as weapons to strike at the United States of America ── murdering 2,977 Americans and injuring thousands more!

Ever since then, the US has spent an exorbitant amount of money to “fight terrorism,” as well as passing laws and taking military steps.

Now, Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York City.

Our people was a-hollerin’ about the front door; they done come in thru the back door! It appears, in this one sense, the ISLAMIC TERRORISTS WON!

There have been additional airline checks and restrictions related to travel in the US and elsewhere, which, of course, have added to our woes and financial strain since the vicious, heinous, and evil TERRORIST ATTACK!

Also, since this attack on September 11th, 2001, the United States government has eliminated a great deal of US citizens' privacy. All Americans have lost many of our inalienable rights under the US Constitution, i.e., the right to liberty (freedom from unlawful restraint), the right of free speech, the right to self-defense, the right to free movement, the right to worship freely, and the right to think freely.

And of course, after losing many of our rights and freedoms, our US government opened the door wide to millions of unvetted illegal immigrants ── be sure to read “TERROR AT OUR DOOR: HOW THE BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION’S OPEN-BORDERS POLICIES UNDERMINE NATIONAL SECURITY AND ENDANGER AMERICANS.”

Certainly, I wouldn’t say that it was on this day, at 8:46 EST, that the great and powerful United States of America began to fall ── but one would surely have to admit that since September 11th, 2001, the nation – which had relative respect for the US Constitution regarding individual freedom and privacy- is now a nation that is like the old proverbial saying: Our cheese is sliding off the cracker! We are, more than ever before in my lifetime, a Socialist totalitarian nation, backed and supported by Islam. Sadly, the nation's ultimate downfall has been in the planning for at least 100-years! There has been (and in large respects, continues to be) suppression of free speech and the freedom of thought, from terrorist groups like Antifa, outright censoring of vital news and information from Left-leaning media outlet juggernauts, and by corporations like Meta and Alphabet Inc., which owns Google. As well as YouTube (owned by Google LLC; you see a monopoly here?) ── intentionally “hiding” certain views on their platform of channels they deem “go against their hate speech policy.” And the US government has encouraged and helped push even more censorship and persecution upon US citizens to enforce and maintain their policies since September 11th, 2001.

All of this cannot be overlooked.

Our beloved 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln, delivered a speech on June 16th, 1885, that echoed our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ’s words ── the “House Divided” speech. It was a pivotal moment in American history!

“’ If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25) And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.’” – Mark 3:24-25.

Sadly, what will ultimately occur to the United States of America, and the United Kingdom and her Commonwealth Nations ── Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, will be far worse than what anyone can imagine. The Biden/Harris Administration has allowed, very possibly, hundreds, if not thousands, of known and unknown terrorists into the US who could be awaiting further instructions from their handler.

Mass ICE enforcement and removal of illegal immigrants ── especially criminal illegals ── by the Trump/Vance Administration has caused many people who are infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) to literally lose their minds! Such as Robert De Niro, Rosie O’Donnell, Howard Stern, Whoopi Goldberg, and even Eminem. And because President Donald Trump has tariffed our European allies and has enforced that they pay their fair share, which they unequivocally were not doing ── our European allies have now become our frenemy.

Turning to Psalm 83 we see a prophecy ── yes indeed, a prophecy ── with some modern national identities inserted using “[ ]” ──

“’ They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4) They have said, ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.’ 5) For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6) The tents of Edom [the progenitor of the Turkish people] and the Ishmaelites [Saudi Arabia]; Moab [think Jordan] and the Hagrites [they anciently dwelt in the land known as Syria today]; 7) Gebal [Lebanon], Ammon [modern Jordan], and Amalek [Turks]; Philistia [modern Palestinians] with the inhabitants of Tyre [Lebanon] 8) Assyria [whose descendants migrated to Germany] also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot [Moab and Ammon in modern Jordan]” – Psalm 83:3-8.

Nearly all of the above peoples today are in lands that are dominated by Islam ── be sure to read, “Is An Islamic NATO Being Formed?”

Truly, this prophecy of Psalm 83 will involve TERRORISM! Why? Because the phrase, ‘taking crafty counsel’ certainly sounds like the plotting of terrorism. We should also note that a “deal” will happen involving Assyria ── which is prophesied to subjugate (When a nation is subjugated by another, it means that the subjugated state has been completely conquered and absorbed by the conquering power, losing its sovereignty) the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and her Commonwealth Nations. See cf. Isaiah 10:5-7.

The Europeans ── a “United States of Europe” ── will come to make a destructive agreement with a final Islamic “Confederation of Islamic Nations,” also called the ‘king of the South’; let us consider the following ──

“’ Assyria is there, and all her company, With their graves all around her, All of them slain, fallen by the sword. 23) Her graves are set in the recess of the Pit, And her company is all around her grave, All of them slain, fallen by the sword, WHO CAUSED TERROR IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING.’” – Ezekiel 32:22-23.

It appears ── though we see through a glass darkly (1 Corinthians 13:12) ── that the final ‘king of the South’ will employ some type of nuclear warfare (possibly a dirty bomb or an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) weapon), employing terrorism against the descendants of the house of Israel, and, likely, Assyria (a “United States of Europe” – also called a final ‘king of the North’) would initially encourage this.

God’s living word in prophecy specifically warns us about “TERROR” as a curse for the disobedient descendants of Jacob (See: Leviticus 26:16; Jeremiah 15:8; and Deuteronomy 32:25), and since TERRORISM has primarily been used by Islamists, this may be a huge part of how they will fulfill their centuries long plan for the utter annihilation of the ‘Great Satan’ and the ‘Little Satan’! The “destruction” of Western nations, dominated by the descendants of the house of Israel, which does include Judah, the tiny nation that is called Israel. As they say, ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more!’

Again, God’s living word does show us that a final ‘king of the North’ will ‘act against the strongest fortresses’ in the dual prophecy in Daniel 11:39, and will be, at least initially, in conjunction with the terrorists of a final ‘king of the South’ – Psalm 83:3-6. This will greatly aid in the downfall of a mighty empire known as the United States of America. This final ‘king of the South’ will be a type of Islamic Confederation of States in North Africa and the Middle East, according to Daniel 11:40-43.

Terrorism was prophesied to occur by the LORD our God upon the unrepentant nations of Israel ──

“’ But IF you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15) and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16) I also will do this to you: I will even appoint TERROR over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17) I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.’” – Leviticus 26:14-17.

“’ They [the children of Israel] have corrupted themselves; They are not His children, Because of their blemish: A perverse and crooked generation. … 25) The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within For the young man and virgin, The nursing child with the man of gray hairs.’” – Deuteronomy 32:5, 25.

“’ Cry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. TERRORS including the sword will be against My people; Therefore strike your thigh.’” – Ezekiel 21:12.

“’ Because you disdained all my counsel, And would have none of my rebuke, 26) I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your TERROR comes, 27) When your TERROR comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.’” – Proverbs 1:25-27.

Sadly, what is to occur to ‘the city of David’ along with the Anglo-Saxon nations, the Western nations, soon will be far worse than the devastation of September 11th, 2001. Do not wait until it’s too late to get your spiritual house in order, to repent, and to believe in the gospel (Mark 1:15), so that the LORD God’s protection can be upon you.

WITHOUT NATIONAL REPENTANCE, DESTRUCTION WILL COME! □

Do You Know the True Gospel of Christ?

As we get ever closer to the glorious and powerful return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, an “Interfaith Gospel” is increasing in popularity.

In regard to God’s kingdom, this “interfaith” gospel’s focus is on a heart-level transformation, which they claim matches Jesus’ teaching that the kingdom of God is “inside you” and lived out through personal righteousness. It views the kingdom as God’s kingship exercised in believers today, not in a future government.

According to sources such as the “Interfaith Gospel Movement,” there’s a quiet surge in a grassroots spiritual movement that echoes those inner-faith ideas, especially among younger people seeking encounters outside of the traditional churches. Data from 2025 shows a spiritual “awakening” beyond the conventional walls, driven by Gen Z’s desire for “genuine experience.” Insider movements ── faith communities that stay within their cultural contexts, all the while claiming worship of Jesus ── are increasing and expanding. Including tent revivals in small-town America, booming in 2026, offering raw “back-to-the-basics” worship that draws thousands upon thousands. 1

Well… in truth, the LORD God is only “calling” a relative few in this present evil age (see our article, “Are You Being Called by God?”). Yet, the LORD God will call others in the ‘age to come’ (see our sermon, “Salvation OFFERED To All”).

Our beloved apostle, Jude, wrote under inspiration that true Christians are “to contend earnestly for the faith which was ONCE FOR ALL delivered to the saints.” And even then, between 68 and 70 AD, Apostle Jude was warning us that “certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for THIS CONDEMNATION, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and DENY THE ONLY LORD GOD [God the Father] AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.” – Jude 1:3-4.

They would rather instead believe that the Holy Spirit is a third God. True Christians know and believe that God (the Elohim), at this present moment, is a family of two ── God the Father and God the Son. Yet, as stated by our Lord Jesus, He was in perfect unity and agreement with His Father (cf. Matthew 26:39; John 5:19; 10:30). Also, true Christians know and believe that the kingdom of God is a future establishment of His government upon the Earth (cf. Matthew 25:31-34; Revelation 21:1-4; Psalm 47:7-8; 103:19).

It’s important to add here a person who was certainly teaching a false gospel and became a 2nd-century theologian, Marcion of Sinope. He was born around 85 AD in Sinope, Pontus (modern Turkey). He began teaching that “the God of the New Testament was a God of love compared to the vengeful Old Testament God.” He also “claimed that Paul was the only true apostle.” He published his own canon of ten Pauline letters and an edited “Gospel of Luke.” His teachings sparked a sizeable sect in his day. Today, few church groups ‘openly’ follow Marcion’s teachings, yet many echo his dualistic emphasis by highlighting New Testament love and downplaying the Old Testament. The dualistic view continues to surface today in some “interfaith Christian” circles that stress that “the kingdom of God is in one’s heart,” and there’s a New Testament love all the while downplaying Old Testament justice. Additionally, he taught against “the faith which was ONCE FOR ALL delivered to the saints,” he taught against the holy Sabbath, and he taught against ── as stated ── the soon-coming Millennial reign of God’s kingdom on Earth. 2 On those three points, elements of Marcion’s teachings show up in today’s interfaith-leaning Christian circles, where there’s often a tendency to highlight New Testament love and downplay Old Testament law.

Even then, soon after 49 AD, the Apostle Paul was warning that people were turning aside to a false gospel ──

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to A DIFFERENT GOSPEL, 7) which is not another [meaning that this false gospel had been around awhile]; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8) But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9) As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1:6-9.

Brethren, as far as living in a growing “interfaith” world, God’s living word teaches us that we “should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting” – Ephesians 4:14. We are to be “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” – 1 Corinthians 15:58. We are to patiently endure, despite the changes all about us.

“’ And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.’” – Mark 13:13.

“Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” – Revelation 14:12.

God’s living word does not promote “The Benedict Option.” A phrase popularized by Rod Dreher’s 2017 proposal that Christians build intentional, resilient communities ── what he calls ‘exile in place’ ── to preserve their faith and beliefs amid an increasingly secular culture. Dreher argues that Christians should build resilient communities ── churches, schools, and families ── that model monastic beliefs so that their faith can thrive among a dominant secular culture. He isn’t calling for literal monasteries, but rather a ‘monastic paradigm’ where ora et labora, prayer and work, can shape daily life as a foretaste of the kingdom of God ── echoing St. Benedict’s ancient model of communal living. 3

Now, for several years there’s been a lot of “reconciling” discussions concerning the Roman Catholic Church and the daughter Protestant churches. Despite the fact that there’s a whole trough full of theological matters they disagree upon, they are seeking closer unity.

God’s living eternal word warns against this type of ecumenical unity that the Vatican desires. The type of unity they are desiring is not biblical. It results in idolatry and hero worship. In the near future, a final false prophet ── a final Roman Catholic Church pope ── speaking pompous words, who will have two horns like a lamb, but will speak as a dragon, will popularize Catholicism to such a degree, that nearly everyone alive will want to unite with Catholicism ──

“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way [meaning, those who believe in this false religion of Satan, they’ll continue to do so until ‘he is taken out of the way’ ── this son of perdition]. 8) And then the lawless one [the wicked one] will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.”

So, in the end-time, despite all the chaos that’s taking place, there will arise a “holy” man who in the end actually claims that he is God! In the Bible, in the Book of Revelation, he is called the great false prophet.

9) The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10) and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11) And FOR THIS REASON God will [and I believe He has already] send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12) that they all may be [judged] who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:7-12.



And as far as this end time “interfaith” ── and I’m sure you’ve seen bumper stickers ── true Christians are warned to “’ Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues’” – Revelation 18:4.

“DO NOT be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15) And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?

16) And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God.” – 2 Corinthians 6:14-16.

True Christians are not of this world; we are sanctified, we are set apart ── we are hated because we are not of the world – John 17:9-23.

We boldly and faithfully proclaim to you the true Gospel of Christ ── rightly preaching the kingdom of God and rightly teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence. □

Israeli assessments indicate that the plan envisages simultaneous actions on several fronts. Such a scenario would differ from the Hamas attack on October 7, when Iran’s other allies did not launch coordinated large-scale actions simultaneously with the attack from the Gaza Strip.

Documents seized from Hamas in the Gaza Strip after the attack contained instructions on the need to “connect and prepare external fronts” — in particular, in Lebanon, Syria, and Sinai. They also referred to agreeing in advance on communication mechanisms for peacetime and war.

Yes, sadly, a coordinated attack against Israel by an evil Iranian-led Confederation of Islamic Nations is indeed prophesied in the very near future.

Iran does have the ability to cause great damage and destruction to Israel, as well as cause some damage to the United States of America along with our interests abroad. Let us notice something that the Prophet Isaiah was inspired by the LORD God to warn concerning grave damage which is soon to come to JERUSALEM –

“Elam bore the quiver With chariots of men and horsemen, And Kir uncovered the shield. 7) It shall come to pass that your choicest valleys Shall be full of chariots, And the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.”

Continuing with verses 8 & 9 – “He [Almighty God] removed the protection of JUDAH. You looked in that day to the armor of the House of the Forest; 9) You also saw the damage to the city of David, That it was great; …” – Isaiah 22:6-9.

Elam is a reference to at least some in Iran.

So, indeed it is very possible that we may be witnessing an escalation of war, that will essentially transition into the Lord’s prophesied ‘great tribulation’ – Matthew 24:21-22.

Truly, while the end of this present evil age is not yet, it is getting ever closer. As our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ tells us ──

“’ Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming ── in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning ── 36) lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37) And what I say to you, I say to all: WATCH!’” – Mark 13:35-37. □

Trumpets: Warnings From God!

Our Lord’s Feast of Trumpets is celebrated and observed this year from sunset on the 11th of September until sunset on the 12th of September!

The Book of Revelation outlines for us the blowing of these trumpets. These warnings are for the entire world, and concern devastating events that will soon begin to occur just before the glorious and powerful return of our Savior and King, the living Jesus Christ! The final trumpet, the SEVENTH TRUMPET, the announcement of the establishment of His kingdom upon a war-weary and devastated earth! We, dear Brethren, Co-Workers, and Friends, in our small part, are also working to perform as a modern-day watchman. Confess to a Priest or Confess to God?

Last night I was watching on television a great classic movie starring John Wayne, “Operation Pacific.” The wonderful actress, Patricia Neal, uttered the words, “I told him it was sort of a penance.” And that got me thinking about this word, penance, and confessing to a priest vs. repentance unto the LORD God. What’s the difference? I’d like to explain──welcome to the Church of Jesus Christ Online Ministries (COJCOM). Our friends in Pune, India, Medellín, Colombia, Brouilla, France, Ashburn, Virginia, and Stamford, Connecticut, and all around the world.

The LORD God’s living word ── the Holy Bible ── clearly teaches us concerning repentance, here regarding the asking for forgiveness, only unto the LORD God (cf. 2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 55:7; Joel 2:12-13; Acts 3:19). But what about this “auricular confession” – meaning, sacramental confession, involving a confession of one’s sins verbally to a religious authority, usually a Catholic priest, who then grants “absolution” (forgiveness) and then may assign an act of penance for any “spiritual reconciliation”? Is any of that taught within God’s living word?

After all, His living word does tell us that we are to “confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:5-10. But has the Roman Catholic Church, along with many others, taken liberties with this passage and others, along with some of their own early documents?

Penance began in the 4th century as the Roman Catholic’s way to assign acts for sin’s penalty, evolving from public confession. It became a formal sacrament in the Middle Ages and was reshaped by the Reformation. The Reformation really transformed the concept of penance.

Let’s begin by reading a passage from the Challoner-Rheims Version (a Catholic version, the Saint Joseph New Catholic Edition (NCB) ──

“Confess, therefore, your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be saved. For the unceasing prayer of a just man is of great avail.” – James 5:16, NCB.

Now, note that this is not an admonishment to confess your sins to a clergy/minister or a priest. Also, the Greek word here translated “sin” should be paraptōma, which means “trespass, transgression, or fault.” They have actually mistranslated it as “sin.” The Greek word for sin is hamartia ── as in the word used in 1 John 1:7. 1

“Confess your faults to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man prevails much, being effective.” – James 5:16, NET.

So, we should also note that they actually translated the word sin in its correct Greek word, hamartia, in the following passage ── however, why the Catholics refused or just simply didn’t capitalize the h in the words “His,” “He,” or “Him,” is beyond me! 2 ──

“But if we walk in the light as he also is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. 8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9) If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all iniquity. 10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” – 1 John 1:7-10, NCB.

I went and had a short conversation with AI regarding why the Catholic Bible doesn’t capitalize “His,” “He,” or Him” when verses are speaking of God the Father or our Lord Jesus ──

Well, Sir ── Catholic Bibles keep pronouns like he, him, and his lowercase because the original Greek manuscripts didn’t capitalize them, and early translators, such as Saint Jerome, followed that practice. Continuing that tradition, modern translation committees retain the lowercase to mirror the source texts rather than add a special reverential rule.

“Wouldn’t you consider that disrespectful?”

O’ Leonard, not at all. It’s actually about preserving historical accuracy and following the original texts’ style. Different traditions have different approaches to showing reverence in translation.

“Well, of course, you know that I would have to disagree with that.”

I get it, Leonard. Different folks have different takes on these things. What matters most is what speaks to your faith and understanding.

“Look, I understand that God, the Creator of the heavens and of the earth, is neither male nor female. Yet, with great reverence, He is considered our Father.”

I hear you, Mister. You’re right about God’s nature being beyond human gender concepts. The ‘Father’ title reflects the nurturing, protective relationship rather than biological gender. Different traditions express this reverence in various ways.

“Yes, I see that we are more than likely going to have to agree to disagree.”

Fair enough, Leonard. I appreciate you sharing your perspective. Do you find that other translations you’ve read and studied handle the capitalization differently?

“O’ yes, absolutely ── the New International Version, the New English Translation, and many others, including the New King James Version!”

Yep, that’s right. Those translations definitely handle it differently, don’t they? It’s fascinating how each version reflects its own approach to balancing reverence with readability.

“Well, there you go, that’s the keyword: reverence.”

Totally, Sir, that’s the core of the whole debate! It’s a clear difference between prioritizing the original Greek manuscripts and using the translation to express that reverence visually. Do you think that visual reminder changes how people actually experience the text when they’re reading it?

“O’ absolutely!”

Totally, it’s like a constant visual cue.
Brethren, true Christians are to confess our sins to God our Father through and in the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin, and He will forgive us of our sins. There is no mention whatsoever of any public penance, nor any mention of one in James 5:16 ── which actually uses the word “faults” and not sins.

Penance is not biblical, nor was it ever an apostolic practice or tradition.

The 1913 Catholic Encyclopedia, Vol. XI, states ──
Teaching of the [Roman Catholic] Church. — The Council of Trent (1551) declares: “As a means of regaining grace and justice, penance was at all times necessary for those who had defiled their souls with any mortal sin. …”

Belief and Practice of the Early [Roman Catholic] Church. — Among the modernistic propositions condemned by Pius X … “In the primitive Church there was no concept of the reconciliation of the Christian sinner by the authority of the Church, but the Church by very slow degrees only grew accustomed to this concept. …” 3
The Catholic Encyclopedia also states, “The Sacrament of PENANCE. —Penance is a sacrament of the New Law instituted by Christ in which forgiveness of sins committed after baptism is granted through the priest's absolution to those who with true sorrow confess their sins.” Its main Scriptural proof is Luke 20:21-22.

In short, the early Roman Catholic Church implemented public penance as a structured ecclesiastical discipline ── again, it is not biblical.

God’s living word shows us clearly that we are to confess our sins to God our Father and God His Son and to no other ──

“Because it is written: ‘For as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.’ 12) So then, each one of us shall give account of himself to God.” – Romans 14:11-12, NET.

“Because of this, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of the faith we profess ── Jesus Christ.” – Hebrews 3:1, NET.

“Having therefore a great High Priest, Who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, we should hold fast the confession of our faith. 15) For we do not have a high priest who cannot empathize with our weaknesses, but one Who was tempted in all things according to the likeness of our own temptations; yet He was without sin. 16) Therefore, we should come with boldness to the throne of grace, to that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” – Hebrews 4:14-16, NET.

Let’s take a look at Acts 19:18-19, in which the Catholics insist on teaching public penance ──

“Then many of those who believed came forward to confess and declare their deeds. 19) And many of those who practiced the occult arts brought their books and burned them before all; and they calculated the cost of them and found it to be fifty thousand pieces of silver.” – Acts 19:18-19, NET. 4

Again, I conversed with AI regarding this passage ──

Brethren, the above Scripture of many people coming forward, having repented of their sins and confessing, and then burning certain occult books, is not considered penance ── certainly not in the sense that the Roman Catholic Church advocates it.

Of course, because there was great opposition to public penance within the Roman Catholic Church, i.e., Martin Luther 5, did the Church change its position? Well… they basically flip-flopped… so, yes, even though they have suggested otherwise in the past.

It’s interesting to see this flip-flopping here on November 25, 1551 ──
CANON VI. --If any one denieth, either that sacramental confession was instituted, or is necessary to salvation, of divine right; or saith, that the manner of confessing secretly to a priest alone, which the Church hath ever observed from the beginning, and doth observe, is alien from the institution and command of Christ, and is a human invention; let him be anathema. 6
That very word “anathema” means, “something or someone vehemently disliked.”

Now, the above is absolutely and unequivocally wrong! Again, notice this flip-flopping from their own Catechism of the Catholic Church ──
Over the centuries the concrete form in which the Church has exercised this power received from the Lord has varied considerably. During the first centuries the reconciliation of Christians who had committed particularly grave sins after their Baptism (for example, idolatry, murder, or adultery) was tied to a very rigorous discipline, according to which penitents had to do public penance for their sins, often for years, before receiving reconciliation. To this “order of penitents” (which concerned only certain grave sins), one was only rarely admitted and in certain regions only once in a lifetime. During the seventh century Irish missionaries, inspired by the Eastern monastic tradition, took to continental Europe the “private” practice of penance, which does not require public and prolonged completion of penitential works before reconciliation with the Church. From that time on, the sacrament has been performed in secret between penitent and priest. This new practice envisioned the possibility of repetition and so opened the way to a regular frequenting of this sacrament. It allowed the forgiveness of grave sins and venial sins to be integrated into one sacramental celebration. In its main lines this is the form of penance that the Church has practiced down to our day. 7
So, basically, they’re all over the place with this.

Our Lord Jesus’ Church Regarding Repentance

Our Lord and Savior’s true Church of God, which has existed since its founding ── the Day of Pentecost, 31 AD ── is not Catholic or Protestant. It bases its beliefs on ONE fundamental Rock – the living Jesus Christ! In which He teaches ──

“ … ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?’

38) Then Peter said to them, ‘REPENT, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” – Acts 2:37, 38.

True Christians are never to inflict punishment upon ourselves or others, believing that this will cause the LORD God to hear our supplications and prayers. Notice the Book of Isaiah chapter 58, verses 2 to 7. The LORD God is telling us, ‘I don’t want you to worship Me this way, where you’re harming yourself or others ‘to make your voice heard on high.’

God’s living word teaches that we MUST ADMIT OUR SINS UNTO HIM.

Indeed, prayer and fasting are not the only methods the LORD God seeks. Let us also notice examples of the prophets Daniel and Nehemiah, along with others. In every case they FREELY ACKNOWLEDGED THEIR SINS AND SHORTCOMINGS! It takes a deep and sincere person to say, “’ Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; 24) And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the Way everlasting.’” – Psalm 139:23-24.

Because if we are truly seeking the LORD God’s Way, this is the attitude that we will reflect. We will freely admit that we are sinners, admit our sins and our shortcomings unto the LORD God, and ask for help in showing us always the Way.

“O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. 24) O LORD, correct me, but with justice; Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing.” – Jeremiah 10:23-24.

We, as carnal human beings, with a carnal mind, do not actually know how to properly live. Yet, once we are called by Father God and begin learning of His Way, and we begin to look unto Him to show us how to properly live and how to change our lives, we are on the way to proper repentance (be sure to read and study, “The compassion of God encompasses every single person”).

Now, sadly, some erroneously believe that the Eternal God could never forgive them because they have committed the “unpardonable sin,” yet those who feel this way can be assured that they have not committed it ──

“If we confess our sins [unto the LORD God], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9.

God’s living word tells us to confess our faults, our trespasses, to one another, and to pray for one another, that we may be healed. But we are to confess our sins to Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus’ New Covenant shows us that we need no longer to go to a human priest, nor do we need to do any “public penance” for sins. □
