November ── it was the 9th of the calendar of Romulus circa. 750 BC. It has retained its Latin name novem, meaning "nine." Interesting fact: In ancient Rome, Ludi Plebeii was held from Nov. 4-17th. An ancient Roman religious festival that held theatrical performances and athletic competitions for the purpose of entertaining the commoners of Rome.
