Is the United Kingdom making a great reset trade deal with the European Union a prelude to the fulfillment of Hosea 5:13-14?
Sir Keir Starmer ── Prime Minister of the United Kingdom since 2024, believes
that his administration has just made a great strategic deal with the European Union

Here is a portion of their joint statement, 19 May 2025, London ──
- We, the Leaders of the United Kingdom (UK) and of the European Union (EU), held our first UK-EU Summit in London on 19 May 2025.
- Reaffirming our shared values and our commitment to deeper cooperation against the backdrop of an evolving and complex global geopolitical landscape, we agreed a new Strategic Partnership between the UK and EU. We agreed this would build on the stable foundation for our relationship set by the Withdrawal Agreement, including the Windsor Framework, and the Trade and Cooperation Agreement, and reaffirmed our commitment to their full, timely and faithful implementation.
- We reflected on the need to develop an ambitious, dynamic relationship which meets the needs of our citizens. In this context, we welcomed a renewed agenda for European Union-United Kingdom cooperation – Common Understanding agreed between the United Kingdom and the European Commission, which covers our commitments on security, defence and development cooperation, to put people at the centre of our relationship, to strengthen our economies while protecting our planet and its resources, and on internal security, judicial cooperation, and irregular migration. We agreed to proceed swiftly with the undertakings set out therein, in accordance with our respective procedures and legal frameworks.
Truly, this great new strategic deal certainly may help their relationship and their
economies, though there will be costs.
God’s living word in prophecy shows us a two-fold end-time prophecy in the Book
of Hosea that there will be grave problems with Judah (the tiny nation in the Middle
East known today as Israel), Ephraim (which is primarily the United Kingdom and parts of her Commonwealth) ── as well as with an end-time
Assyria (modern-day Germany and parts of the EU).

Notice what the Prophet Hosea wrote, under divine inspiration, what would be
fulfilled in this dual prophecy ──
“’ The PRIDE of Israel testifies to his face; Therefore Israel and Ephraim stumble in
their iniquity; Judah also stumbles with them.’” – Hosea 5:5, NKJV throughout,
unless otherwise noted.
The Prophet Hosea, showing us in this dual prophecy that Israel (the United States
of America (cf. Genesis 35:11), Ephraim (the United Kingdom and her
Commonwealth Nations (cf. Genesis 35:11), and Judah (modern-day Israel), will
have terrible problems. In its final fulfillment of this prophecy ── we can easily see
the end-time prophecy of Daniel 11:39-40. Surely, the great United States of
America will have pride in her military strength ── yet, a final Catholic European
civic leader will “act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he
shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; …” Sadly, he will come to “rule over
many, and divide the land for gain.”
The Prophet Hosea went on to prophesy in chapter 8, that the LORD God ──
prophecies in Scripture often contain both immediate and future implications ──
will send fire upon the cities of Israel and Judah. Note that the five cities of the plain,
which included Sodom and Gomorrah, were destroyed by what we believe to have
been an asteroid (keep in mind the Tunguska event of 1908). Those cities were primarily destroyed because of their out-of-control “sexual immorality” – the going
after “strange flesh” (Jude 1:7). Truly, truly, those types of egregious sins are
growing within the Anglo-Saxon nations!
Certainly, our peoples who do not properly understand that these words of the
Eternal One apply to the modern descendants of Jacob/Israel will not understand ──
“’ The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are
revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of
this Law.’” – Deuteronomy 29:29.
Those who trust wholeheartedly in this world’s governmental systems and its
perversities will have sudden destruction thrust upon them, and they will be
destroyed ──
“Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel: ‘Because you despise this word, And
trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13) Therefore this iniquity shall
be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes
suddenly, in an instant.’” – Isaiah 30:12-13.
Sadly, the Anglo-Saxon nations, that were originally founded upon the principles of
the Holy Bible, should know better. Yet, they will not repent. And the Prophet Hosea
was inspired to write ──
“ … ‘the Assyrian shall be his king, Because they refused to repent.’” – Hosea 11:5.
God’s living word is clear that an end-time Assyria (modern-day Germany and parts
of the EU) will be a great northern power that the LORD God will use to cause “the
sword [to] slash in his cities, Devour his districts, And consume them, Because of
their own counsels.”
The Lord GOD Himself says, “’ My people are bent on backsliding from Me. Though
they call to the Most High, None at all exalt Him.’” – Hosea 11:6-7.
The United States of America and the United Kingdom and her Commonwealth
Nations respectively will come to lose their sovereignty and will be subjugated by a
“United States of Europe.”
Continuing in this dual end-time prophecy, the Prophet Hosea also wrote this will
come about ──
“’ With their flocks and herds They shall go to seek the LORD [surely speaking of Judah officially reinstituting animal sacrifices], But they will not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.
7) They have dealt treacherously with the LORD, For they have begotten pagan
children. Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage.’” – Hosea 5:6-7.
He continues to record terrible troubles for our peoples in this end-time ──
“’ When Ephraim saw his sickness, And Judah saw his wound, Then Ephraim went
to Assyria And sent to King Jareb; Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your
wound. 14) For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, And like a young lion to the house
of Judah. I, even I, will tear them and go away; I will take them away, and no one
shall rescue.’” – Hosea 5:13-14.
Ephraim (prophetically the United Kingdom and her Commonwealth Nations) went
to Assyria (prophetically Germany and her European allies) and made a great
strategic deal after their BREXIT.
Also, notice this in chapter 8, in which Ephraim hires help, and Israel (the U.S.A.
apparently is now subjugated) ──
“’ Israel is swallowed up; Now they are among the Gentiles Like a vessel in which
is no pleasure. 9) For they have gone up to Assyria, Like a wild donkey alone by
itself; Ephraim has hired lovers.’” – Hosea 8:8-9.
Also, notice this in chapter 12, Ephraim tries to make a covenant with the Assyrians
──
“’ Ephraim feeds on the wind, And pursues the east wind; He daily increases lies and
desolation. Also they make a covenant with the Assyrians, …’” – Hosea 12:1.
Truly, by Sir Keir Starmer’s administration trying to make a great strategic deal with
the Europeans, as well as efforts by King Charles III, it looks to be setting the stage
now for the United Kingdom to “hire help” in the future.
Notice in Hosea chapter 7, Ephraim also tries to make a deal with Egypt and Assyria.
And, this covenant appears after the U.S.A. is subjugated ──
“’ Ephraim also is like a silly dove, without sense ── They call to Egypt, They go
to Assyria. 12) Wherever they go, I will spread My net on them; I will bring them
down like birds of the air; I will chastise them According to what their congregation
has heard.’” – Hosea 7:11-12.
As far as I am aware, there is nowhere in world history that shows us that ancient
Ephraim called upon Egypt for any help after the Prophet Hosea had written this
prophecy. Since this prophecy must be fulfilled (cf. Matthew 24:34; Luke 24:44),
that means it is an end-time prophecy ── God’s living word tells us that a final king
of the North (an end-time Catholic United States of Europe) subjugates large swaths
of the West before it invades and attacks the final king of the South (a confederation
of Islamic nations).
Soon coming in this 11:59 hour, the Ephraimites (as the LORD God sees these
company of nations; the U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand respectively),
along with Judah (modern-day Israel) believe they should seek protection from
Assyria (again, modern-day Germany and parts of the EU), surely because the
United States of America’s power has been neutralized. □
