December 16, 2025Has Orwell’s 1984 Become Reality?To some readers it may seem like a rhetorical question to ask whether the narrative of George Orwell’s dystopian novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four (or 1984), first published in Britain in 1949, has somehow left its pages and settled, like an ominous miasma, over the contours of social reality. Yet, closer inspection – which means avoiding compromised mainstream news outlets – discloses a disquieting state of affairs.Everywhere we look in Western countries, from the United Kingdom, through Europe to America (and even India, whose ‘Orwellian digital ID system’ was lavishly praised by British prime minister Keir Starmer recently), what meets the eye is a set of social conditions exhibiting varying stages of precisely the no-longer-fictional totalitarian state depicted by Orwell in 1984. Needless to stress, this constitutes a warning against totalitarianism with its unapologetic manipulation of information and mass surveillance. …Most people would know that totalitarianism is not a desirable social or political set of circumstances. Even the word sounds ominous, but that is probably only to those who already know what it denotes. I have written on it before, in different contexts, but it is now more relevant than ever. We should remind ourselves what Orwell wrote in that uncannily premonitory novel.Considering the rapidly expanding and intensifying, electronically mediated strategies of surveillance being implemented globally – no doubt aimed at inculcating in citizens a subliminal awareness that privacy is fast becoming but a distant memory – the following excerpt from Orwell’s text strikes one as disturbingly prophetic, considering the time it was written …
“Behind Winston’s back the voice from the telescreen was still babbling away about pig-iron and the overfulfillment of the Ninth Three-Year Plan. The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it, moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. Twelve people, including children, are dead after two gunmen armed with rifles opened fire at Bondi Beach on Sunday afternoon, in an act of terrorism targeting a Jewish holiday celebration.
Witnesses said two men stepped out of a vehicle on Campbell Parade, near Bondi Pavilion, and opened fire about 6.40pm on Sunday, with footage showing blast after blast on the tourist strip. Some witnesses report more than 30 shots.
Video and photos taken by a Daily Mail photographer show a gunman, later identified as Naveed Akram, 24, from Bonnyrigg in Sydney’s southwest, opening fire from an elevated bridge. …
Up to 29 injured people, including two police officers in critical condition and a child, have been taken to various hospitals in Sydney.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has condemned the shooting, which has been confirmed as an act of terrorism.

The Koran itself preaches violence against anyone who does not believe their way. As Gene Youngblood of Jacksonville.com wrote in his opinion piece, the online publication made sure to separate itself from. What he wrote, “We must all confront the realities that are going on all around us and recognize that these horrors are perpetrated by one religion, Islam. We are told Islam is a religion of peace; anyone telling you that is just engaged in uninformed, wishful thinking or is deliberately trying to deceive you. Islam is not a religion of peace at all; the perpetrators of terrorism are following the edicts clearly given in their verses that constitute the Koran.” 4
Islam is a religion of hate and anti-Semitism, and this hatred and anti-Semitism are continuing to grow around the world, including in Australia.

Police Arrest Suspect in Brown University Shooting
Police in Rhode Island said early Sunday that they had a suspect in custody after a shooting that rocked the Brown University campus during final exams, leaving two people dead and nine others wounded.
Col. Oscar Perez, chief of the Providence police, confirmed at a news conference that the detained suspect was in their 30s and that authorities are not currently searching for anyone else. He declined to say where the suspect was arrested and whether the person was connected to the university.
The shooting erupted Saturday afternoon in the engineering building of the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, during final exams. Hundreds of police officers had scoured the Brown University campus along with nearby neighborhoods and pored over video in pursuit of a shooter who opened fire in a classroom.
Armed with a handgun, the shooter fired more than 40 9mm rounds, according to a law enforcement official.

“For the commandments, ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ ‘You shall not covet,’ and if there is any other commandment [and there is, there is five more], are all summed up in this saying, namely, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 10) Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.” – Romans 13:9 10.
Now, brothers and sisters and all my fellow citizens of the United States ── the godly love that our Lord GOD is speaking of is ── He’s not speaking about loving your neighbor as in allowing some 20 million undocumented, unvetted illegal aliens to invade our nation! The closer we come to the end of this present evil age, the greater terrorism will grow within the nations that are descended from the house of Israel.
Our eternal, mighty, and awesome Creator GOD shows us that the violent, the sexually immoral, the murderers, and the evil minders (who do not repent of their sins) are outright deserving of eternal death ──
“ … they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not proper; 29) being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil mindedness; they are whisperers, 30) backbiters, haters of God [haters of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ], violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31) undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32) who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” – Romans 1:28-32.
Let us consider this prophecy given by the Apostle Paul, inspired by God’s Spirit, as we near the end of this present evil age ──
“But know this, that IN THE LAST DAYS perilous times will come:
2) For men [mankind] will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3) unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good; 4) traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5) having a form of godliness but denying its power.
And from such people turn away!” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
Terrorists are indeed brutal, unloving, unforgiving, proud, boastful, and certainly despisers of good!
Let us continue to pray, ‘Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Your holy and righteous upper heavenly realm.’ □
