The United States of America has dominated the news. In Venezuela, Nicolás
Maduro, the unrecognized President of Venezuela, along with his wife, was captured,
flown to the US to stand trial on criminal charges!
January 3, 2026US captures Venezuela’s leader and his wife in a stunning operation and plans to prosecute them.CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — The United States captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and flew him out of the country in a stunning military operation early Saturday that plucked a sitting leader from office — the culmination of months of escalating Trump administration pressure on the oil-rich South American nation.Maduro and his wife, taken overnight from their home on a military base, were aboard a U.S. warship on their way to New York, where they were to face criminal charges. The U.S. is now evaluating next steps for Venezuela, President Donald Trump said Saturday on Fox News.“We’ll be involved in it very much,” he said. “We can’t take a chance in letting somebody else run and just take over what he left.” …Maduro and other Venezuelan officials were indicted in 2020 on “narco terrorism” conspiracy charges, but the Justice Department released a new indictment Saturday of Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, accusing them of a role in narco-terrorism conspiracy.U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi vowed in a social media post that the couple would “soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.” Trump said the couple were aboard the U.S. warship Iwo Jima and headed to New York.
The dictator, Nicolás Maduro, was a former union leader who had been acting as the
de facto president of Venezuela since March 2013. Now, he is in a U.S. prison
awaiting trial for his crimes ── allegedly, many of which are crimes against
humanity.
The online Encyclopædia Britannica, which is mostly a reliable source, has this to
say concerning this Nicolás Maduro (also known as Nicolás Maduro Moros) ──
“[W]on the special election held in April 2013 to choose a replacement to serve out the remainder of the term of Venezuelan Pres. Hugo Chávez, … After serving as vice president (October 2012–March 2013), Maduro, a former labor leader, became the interim president following Chávez’s death. …Maduro was the successful candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela; PSUV) in the special election to replace Chávez, and he was reelected in 2018. His rule after 2018 was marked by increasing authoritarianism, repeated efforts by the opposition to remove him from office, and mounting international pressure, including a 2020 indictment by the United States on drug trafficking-related charges, … Despite these challenges, Maduro remained in power and in 2024 claimed victory in another presidential election that was disputed by opposition groups and several foreign governments. …On January 10, 2019, Maduro was sworn in for his second term as president. … Maduro declared himself “the only president of Venezuela,” branded [Juan] Guaidó’s action as a conspiratorial coup engineered by the United States, … Maduro received strong statements of support from Bolivia, Cuba, Mexico, Turkey, and Russia, the last of which had ties to the Venezuelan military and oil industry and characterized Guaidó’s action as an attempt to “usurp power.” 1
Thanks be to God Almighty; it appears that regime change has occurred for the
Venezuelan people! President Donald Trump is sending a clear message to the world──let us get up out of our chairs, open up our windows, stick our heads out, and
yell, ‘We’re as mad as all-get-out, and we’re not going to take it anymore!’
In the July 2024 Venezuelan presidential election, Maduro again declared himself
the victor despite evidence to the contrary. The United States joined many other
countries in refusing to recognize Maduro as the legitimately elected president in the
2024 contested election. 2

There was ever-greater violence in Venezuela after Juan Guaido’s efforts to overthrow President Nicolas Maduro and install himself (See: Voice of America – Venezuela: 'Attempted Coup' Underway, as Guaido Calls for Military to Help Oust Maduro). There are calls for even more violence (See: Voice of America – Venezuelan Opposition Leader Tries New Tactic to Topple Maduro). There are grave economic problems in what was once South America’s richest country. Like the rest of this world in this ‘present evil age,’ Venezuela NEEDS to REPENT and seek the kingdom of God.
Notice how those headlines had flipped the facts, completely altering the perception
of the event. Please forgive us ── many times, even with world news, we are only
able to see ‘in a mirror, dimly,’ until more light is reflected upon a subject (cf. 1
Corinthians 13:12).
Like all dictators, this Nicolás Maduro used charismatic and deceptive language, a
combination of authoritarian tactics, military control, manipulation of electoral
processes, economic control, and international isolation and propaganda. The people
of Venezuela now have hope for great change for the better. FREEDOM IS ALWAYS
BETTER THAN TYRANNY!

And yes, again, let us praise Almighty God, it looks as if regime change is happening

and seek the glorious soon-coming kingdom of God! ¡Que nuestro Dios poderoso
esté con el pueblo venezolano!

It needs to be pointed out that many leaders in Europe have a desire for a “United States of Europe” to replace Western Hegemony, or what many call “Western
Imperialism,” which the Anglo-Americans have long dominated.

Also concerning Greenland ── ‘President Donald Trump says U.S. will acquire Greenland, whether they like it or not.’
The Trump Administration has continued to make statements concerning the
acquisition of the semi-autonomous region that's part of NATO ally Denmark,
Greenland. The US President would like to make a deal, but warns he is preparing to “do it the hard way” because Russia or China might take the island over (See: Sky
News).

Can you imagine what would have happened if the U.S. had not purchased Alaska
in 1867 for a sum of $7.2 million? The territory would have remained under Russian
control until 1917, after which it would have been an important Soviet military and
NUCLEAR BASE within our Western Hemisphere! 4 Russia as our next-door
neighbor!
Of course, many are noticing that President Donald Trump is jolting allied nations
and foes alike! God’s living word in a two-fold prophecy does warn us about a great
power that will be destroyed by its friends, who become enemies ──
“How lonely sits the city That was full of people! How like a widow is she, Who
was great among the nations! The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!
2) She weeps bitterly in the night, Her tears are on her cheeks; Among all her lovers She has none to comfort her. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; They
have become her enemies.” – Lamentations 1:1-2.
Right or wrong geopolitically, the Trump-Vance Administration has been “pushing”
friends to become enemies. “In the meantime, you have Russian destroyers and
submarines, and China destroyers and submarines all over the place,” Trump said.
“We’re not going to let that happen, and if it affects NATO, then it affects NATO.
But, you know, they need us more than we need them, I will tell you that right now.”
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warned last week that Trump’s annexation
comments could threaten NATO itself, saying any U.S. military action against a
NATO ally would effectively end the alliance and the security framework that has
existed since World War II. 5
The United States of America is “pushing” NATO allies.
Trump has frequently questioned America's role within NATO, chastising allies for
not playing their part while publicly questioning the support the U.S. provides.
Here are some things the President of the United States has said about the 75-year-old alliance.
- NATO costs the U.S. too much
- NATO is ‘obsolete’
- Other members are not pulling their weight
- Encouraging Russia to do whatever it wants
But he has stuck up for the alliance before as well. 6
