In China, over in the South Pacific, a ballistic missile was tested which, of course, concerns Australia and New Zealand (See: DW - China's missile test causes concern in Pacific nations).

Understanding the Chinese military threat to Australia
- China’s ability to direct military force against Australia operates primarily through domains other than direct strikes on the Australian landmass. Its ability to interdict Australia’s maritime trade, sever undersea communications infrastructure, conduct sophisticated cyber operations, and project naval power into Australian waters is robust and will grow substantially over the coming decade.
- China can already strike northern Australia with ballistic missiles deployed to its South China Sea outposts, and its capacity to strike the Australian landmass from Chinese territory will grow over the next decade as the DF-27 intermediate-range ballistic missile, and potentially a conventionally armed intercontinental ballistic missile, grow in service numbers.
- Two factors could quickly and dramatically escalate the strike threat against the Australian landmass: China could field a new long-range bomber (a crewed or drone aircraft), or it could deploy existing bombers and missiles to bases closer to Australia.
- China’s military build-up has already eroded US military primacy in the Indo-Pacific, increased the threat to Taiwan, and created structural pressure on regional states to accommodate Beijing’s preferences. These shifts affect Australian security regardless of China’s capacity to strike Australian territory. …
The direct strike threat to Australian territory is real and growing but should be understood within this broader context. The primary conventional strike threat over the next decade will come from Chinese missiles, fired from surface ships, submarines, and potentially from Chinese territory via the DF-27 intermediate-range ballistic missile. …
Our brethren, the Australians, of course, hope that the United States of America will always be able to help defend them. Sadly, however, the U.S.-Australia alliance will not always be.
China has lashed out at Australia because of its positions, as well as the U.S., over the past decade or so. China is indicating that they believe Australia is illegitimate (Some of China’s young intelligentsia appear to be arguing that “terra nullius” (the “nobody’s land” concept used to justify British colonization of Australia). And, indeed, Britain entered the old Common Market, and as that 1963 article indicated, Australia has become even more dependent upon Asian markets. Australia is becoming vulnerable to becoming China’s ‘Next Taiwan’!
We should indeed consider the following living words of the LORD God ──
“’ All your lovers have forgotten you; They do not seek you; For I have wounded you with the wound of an enemy, With the chastisement of a cruel one, For the multitude of your iniquities, Because your sins have increased.’” – Jeremiah 30:14.
Yes, sadly, Australia’s sins have been steadily increasing. Australia’s crime landscape in 2024–25 shows continued high rates of personal violence and property crime, with notable increases in some categories …
- 3.9% of persons aged 15+ (861,400) experienced one or more selected personal crimes. …
- Sexual assault (persons aged 18+): 0.5% (89,400 victims) — up from 0.3% in 2014–15. …
- Homicide: 448 victims (9% increase from 2023) …
- Kidnapping/abduction: 574 victims (+75 from 2023). …
- Unlawful entry (break-ins): 160,885+ victims (+6% from 2023–24). …
- Adult prisoners: 46,998 as of June 2025 (up 6% from 2024).
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander prisoners: 17,432 (up 10% from 2024).
- Most serious offence: 29% of prisoners. 1

Key Announcements: Allies reaffirmed their ironclad commitment to Article 5 and NATO’s 360-degree approach to deterrence and defense. Allied Leaders noted that European Allies and Canada have increased core defense investments. Allies pledged to further strengthen NATO’s industrial resilience by expanding manufacturing capacity, fostering innovation with industry and enhancing transatlantic industrial cooperation by removing barriers to defense trade within the Alliance. Allies announced more than EUR 50 billion of procurement deals on new capabilities, including deep precision strike capabilities, integrated air and missile defense, uncrewed systems, cutting-edge technologies and intelligence capabilities. Allies committed to increasing innovation and technology adoption across the Alliance. Allies took a historic step to enhance NATO's fuel supply chain, announcing a EUR 27 billion investment to modernize fuel storage and distribution infrastructure and support new facilities, including pipelines, that extend to the eastern part of the Alliance. Allied Leaders reiterated that they stand united in their unwavering support for Ukraine and pledged EUR 70 billion in military equipment, assistance and training for Ukraine in 2026, along with the commitment to sustaining at least an equivalent level of assistance for 2027. And Allies affirmed that NATO would continue to address the challenges that define its broader security environment, including strategic competition, pervasive instability, hybrid threats and recurrent shocks. They reiterated that Iran must never have a nuclear weapon and called on Iran to fully respect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. 2
The Trump/Vance Administration told our European Allies that the U.S. has plans on reducing support and expects the Europeans to continue taking steps to be able to defend themselves. (See: npr - Trump's NATO pressure campaign continues as summit begins).
This spring Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, voiced concerns about the NATO security alliance ──
Europeans are more and more concerned that the United States of America will no longer be a reliable defender of Europe. Certainly, as I’ve been saying ── The Trump Administration sees through Europe’s decay, and because of this, alone, Europe is turning away from the US and is becoming less of an ally and more of an acquaintance, or a frenemy.
The greater and stronger Europe makes their militaries, the more they will be emboldened to become independent of the US.
The following prophecy should be considered in regard to the US’s Alliance with the Europeans ──
“How lonely sits the city That was full of people! How like a widow is she, Who was great among the nations! The princess among the provinces Has become a slave!
2) She weeps bitterly in the night, Her tears are on her cheeks; Among all her lovers She has none to comfort her. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; They have become her enemies.” ── Lamentations 1:1-2.
The LORD God here is indeed speaking both historically and issuing a prophetic warning. It illustrates for us the grave consequences of disobedience and the bringing of suffering.
We are continuing to witness in this final 11:59 hour, world affairs that are aligning with properly understood biblical two-fold prophecies. □
