Questions That the Religions of the World Ask ── VII) – Why, if God’s living Word is Inspired, Does It Reflect Flawed Morality?

We pray and hope that this article will help you better understand this question that many have.

Let me explain what I mean──the other day I heard on a television program, “The God of the Old Testament was hard; the New Testament God is much nicer!” They go on to say, “The God of the Old Testament would have you killed for breaking the holy Sabbath!”

Today, many worldly churches are promoting and teaching ideas that… according to the LORD God are immoral—such as the inclusion of people that are “immoral.” They go on to ask, “Why does the Bible reflect prejudice rather than love—a timeless principle?”

God’s living eternal word does not reflect prejudice; it reflects flawed and immoral people. The very idea that we are supposed to be all-inclusive with immoral people is supposing that the LORD God’s definition of what is and is not moral has somehow changed, so that the timeless principle of love has somehow changed.

It has not──God is love (1 John 4:8).

Notice this blasphemous statement from a liberal pro-LGBTQ+ female bishop of the United Church of Christ ──

Yvette Flunder—UCC bishop out of Oakland, head of “The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries” 🤮 —stood up with a mic and said what a lot of people whisper but won’t admit out loud. She said the New Testament is not the Word of God. Said the Bible is “problematic.” Said we need a “Third Testament.” Said if certain pages offend—rip them out. Pour them out. Rewrite the thing.

Well, in truth, God’s living word DOES NOT allow for female bishops! And, I know that this is a controversial subject──why, I do not know; God’s living word is clear──let me just add… God’s word presents a clear pattern in which men occupy the pastoral office of elder/overseer, specifically tasked with governing and doctrinal responsibility within local congregations. However, at the same time, God’s word also shows us that women were mightily used by the LORD God in various teaching services, hospitality, and leadership capacities that do not equate to the pastoral/elder/overseer office.

Of course, this false minister is also a lesbian, which is considered abominable to the LORD God ──

“Therefore A MAN shall leave his father and mother and be joined to HIS WIFE [note today’s societies have even changed the definition of wife! Note Webster’s definition of “wife” – “a woman acting in a specified capacity. A female partner in a marriage.” 1], and they shall become ONE FLESH.” – Genesis 2:24.

And yes, it’s equally sad that many today don’t properly know the definition of “woman” ── “an adult female person. A woman belonging to a particular category (as by birth), a distinctively feminine nature.” 2

That one verse is enough to show us that “one flesh” undergirds the LORD God’s view that marriage and sexual intimacy were designed for a male-female union. The absolute prohibition of same-sex activity among men (Leviticus 18:22, “’ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.’”) reflects the overarching principle that sexual relations outside of the LORD God’s established male-female covenant are not in harmony with His design for mankind.

Romans 1:26-27 directly references women engaging in same-sex relations, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.” His inspired words conclude here that such behavior stands outside of the LORD God’s original intention for sexuality.

So, this vile Yvette Flunder desiring a “Third Testament” so that one can rip to shreds God’s inspired word should come as no surprise since she is a faithful servant of Satan himself, ‘transforming herself into a minister of righteousness, whose end will be according to her works.’ – cf. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15. She outright refuses to accept the LORD God’s living word!

She, who claims to be a Christian, DOES NOT believe the following from our beloved Apostle Paul ──

“ALL SCRIPTURE [the whole of the 66 Books of the Inspired Holy Bible!] is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17) that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Minister Fred R. Coulter had this to say in his commentary ──

“Indeed, the Apostle Paul wrote to the Colossians that he was to help ‘complete the Word of God’ with his epistles (Col. 1:25). Paul also wrote to Timothy concerning the Old Testament … Paul is showing that salvation involves not only faith in Christ and New Testament teachings, but that the Old Testament teachings are necessary as well. Paul then shows that ALL SCRIPTURE ── Old and New Testament ── is inspired by God. …” 3

Our Lord Jesus Christ teaches us ──

“ … ‘It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” – Matthew 4:4.

The Holy Bible ── which surely, in Yvette’s Bible, has whole passages marked out, and pages torn out! WARNS US ──

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2) For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3) unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4) traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5) having a form of godliness but denying its power! And from such people turn away!” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

He goes on to say that such people are “always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” vs. 7.

“But evil men [and I add editorially, and women] and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” – vs. 13.

Truly, “’ There is no [reverent] fear of God before their eyes.’” – Romans 3:18.

Yet, sadly, her abominable statement about a “Third Testament” is not uniquely her own ── the World Economic Forum (WEF) (which I’ve spoken about in the likes of “Connect With Jesus ── Only $1.99 per minute”) stated something similar ──

WEF Calls for AI to Rewrite Bible, Create ‘Religions That Are Actually Correct’

A top official with the World Economic Forum (WEF) has called for religious scripture to be “rewritten” by artificial intelligence (AI) to create a globalized “new Bible.”

Yuval Noah Harari, the senior advisor to the WEF and its chairman Klaus Schwab, argues that using AI to replace scriptures will create unified “religions that are actually correct.”

Of course, now they are denying saying it! 4

Having certainly discovered that AI like Alexa+ can provide wrong answers to not only historical questions with theological connections (there is a clause at the bottom of the Alexa+ app in very small letters, “Alexa may not always get it right”), having AI rewrite a Bible or blasphemously pretend to be Jesus should not sound like a good idea to anyone who is rightly seeking the living truth of the LORD God!

God’s living word, that is alive, clearly warns us ──

“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death [speaking of the second death].” – Proverbs 14:12.

The types of immorality that people are justifying in their own eyes will ultimately lead them to death! This so-called “new morality” ── where people are doing what is right in their own eyes (Deuteronomy 12:8) ── well … in truth, most people simply DO NOT CARE what the LORD God says!

We are at the 11:59 Hour, where more and more people want to censor God’s living word ── the Holy Bible ── a world that, like in the television show Young Sheldon, wants to make Christianity a butt-of-a-joke, wants to make anyone who believes in a Creator “crazy” and “irrational.” I found his comments highly offensive and inappropriate on that show! Prophet Isaiah was inspired to warn the rebellious children of God ──

“’ Woe to the rebellious children, ‘Says the LORD, ‘Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, … 8) Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:

9) That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the Law of the LORD; 10) Who say to the seer, ‘[You’re outta your mind! Your very belief in a God is dumb!’] And to the prophets, [‘You’re not speaking the truth, America was founded upon the belief that all people are welcome!’ 5]. Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel [because, as they like to say, ‘We have a different God, not the God of the Old Testament!’] To cease from before us.’

12) Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel [our Lord Jesus Christ is the same God of the Old Testament!]: ‘Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13) Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like A BREACH READY TO FALL …’” 

And let us think of the United States of America today; it’s interesting to think that President Donald Trump’s border wall could be thought of as a metaphor for the BREACH THAT IS READY TO FALL once he leaves office! If you can honestly imagine this “breach,” think about what the United States would have been like under a Harris Administration!

… ‘A BULGE IN A HIGH WALL, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.

14) And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, Which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments A shard to take fire from the hearth, Or to take water from the cistern.’” – Isaiah 30:1, 8-14.

YES! The LORD God is holding back this BREACH THAT WILL COME! The same as the LORD God has postponed the evil Islamic Regime of Iran from creating or obtaining a nuclear weapon! The great damage to Jerusalem is coming! The utter further decline of our societies and of the United States as a whole ── and even the loss of our sovereignty ── is coming! And much of it will be directly tied to this so-called “modern morality”!

The LORD God has created TIMELESS ETHICAL PRINCIPLES!

Now, it is true that many of the LORD God’s statutes were for the governing of the physical kingdom of Israel. The specifics are not wrong; they are simply in conflict with this new “modern morality.” Various penalties for wrongdoing ── some penalties required even death ── were placed into law by the LORD God to dissuade and discourage others from wrongdoing and criminal acts. Let me give you a couple of examples ──

“Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks ON THE SABBATH DAY. 33) And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. …” ── now, the people had already been told by the LORD God, ‘the person who does anything presumptuously, whether he is a native-born or a stranger, that one brings reproach on the LORD, and he shall be cut off from among his people.’ “ … 34) They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him. 35) Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.’ 36) So, as the LORD commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.” – Numbers 15:32-36.

“’ If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep. … 4) If the theft is certainly found alive in his hand, whether it is an ox or donkey or sheep, he shall restore double.’” – Exodus 22:1, 4.

We know from our history that there used to be public hangings in the United States. It was used in order to try and dissuade the behavior for which the criminal was being hanged. In an article I posted a while back, “Personal From… Capital Punishment,” of which I mostly speak concerning corporal punishment of children, I wrote ──

To properly understand God’s kingdom, we must first study His Way of governing people. And we can learn this from the Way that He dealt with ancient Israel in the past. We also need to learn how God deals with us even now, and what He will do in the immediate future. You are going to need and use this vital information.

The administration of the civil government of ancient Israel actually reveals to us God’s method of dealing directly with unconverted, fleshly, sinning people. To be factual – the government of ancient Israel had church and state combined – though it was physical, the administration of civil and religious statutes and ordinances was combined. Bear in mind ── ancient Israel was NEVER promised salvation at that time. The promises under the Old Covenant were material – cf. Leviticus 26:3-12. They were not converted, nor did they have God’s Holy Spirit; hence they could not understand spiritual things. They were like the majority of people today. God dealt with them in a purely physical manner – PUNISHING THEM FOR THEIR CRIMES.

Most people will surely disagree, but the LORD God will implement these types of punishments again upon the establishment of His kingdom. The LORD God’s statutes—His laws, commands, and decrees—are portrayed in Scripture as eternal, unchanging, and universally applicable. Yet, we know that the LORD God will place within people ‘a new heart and put a new spirit within [them]; will remove [their] heart of stone and give [them] a heart of flesh.’ – cf. Ezekiel 36:26. So, I pray that those harsh punishments will not be necessary in His holy and righteous kingdom.

Some unclean meats per Leviticus 11 & Deuteronomy 14 (AI-generated)

Furthermore, let us consider that God’s word teaches us the prohibition of eating certain unclean meats. Indeed, science has proven that these unclean meats are unhealthy to a human body, often subject to being too toxic—at least a good part of the time, people in California are warned not to consume shellfish. Also, it is known that many diseases and viruses have been associated with the consumption of the LORD God-forbidden unclean animals, sea creatures──or whatever is in the waters──birds, flying insects and creeping things. So with this too, there is a timeless benefit, despite this God-ordained dietary law going against a “modern morality.” A law that is for all of humanity, not just the Jews.

Certainly, this so-called “new morality” is nothing new. It has been immoral in the eyes of the LORD God from THE BEGINNING. Let us consider some things that were considered immoral some 1,968 years ago, and are still immoral today in this 21st century present evil age ──

The Apostle Paul, writing to the Church in Rome, and to us dear saints as well ──

“For the wrath of God is REVEALED from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19) because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20) For SINCE THE CREATION OF THE WORLD His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and God head, so that THEY ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE, 21) because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22) Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23) and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man ── and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24) Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25) who exchanged the truth of God for THE LIE and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26) For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men COMMITTING WHAT IS SHAMEFUL, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28)And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a [reprobate] mind, to do those thing which are NOT FITTING; 29) being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30) backbiters, haters of God, violent, PROUD, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31) undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32) Who, KNOWING THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” – Romans 1:24-32.

This so-called “modern morality” is NOT based upon the living word of the Eternal One!

In truth, it is far better for all people to obey the Commands of the LORD God than to claim that they cannot, will not, or should not!

God’s living word tells us of an early event that happened in the cities of Sodom & Gomorrah around 2065 – 1895 B.C. ──

“Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens. 25) So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.” – Genesis 19:24-25.

Why did the LORD allow this to happen?

Our beloved apostles Peter and Jude both speak of why ──

“For God did not spare … 5) … the ancient world, but … 6) … turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, MAKING THEM AN EXAMPLE TO THOSE AFTERWARD WOULD LIVE UNGODLY.” – 2 Peter 2:4, 5, 6.

“But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, … 7) as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth AS AN EXAMPLE, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” – Jude 1:5, 7.

Indeed, “sexual immorality” includes what had occurred in Genesis 19, “the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, … called to Lot and said to him, ‘Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally’” ── homosexuality (which is the term lesbian for females), what the LORD here calls “strange flesh.”

The LORD God allowed the utter annihilation of Sodom & Gomorrah 6 for AN EXAMPLE TO THOSE AFTERWARD WOULD LIVE UNGODLY! Yet, despite this grave warning, ‘that they once knew,’ many modern church ministers either gloss over this warning from the LORD God, or a great many try and deny that any sexual assault was involved in this incident! These false ministers continue to proclaim that “God was just angry over the Sodomites’ inhospitality to strangers.” In fact, when I asked AI regarding Sodom & Gomorrah, its answer was just that ── “Most scholars view Sodom’s sin as broader wickedness, especially hostile hospitality and violence against strangers.”

The context, however, is undeniable: what their intentions were – a sexual assault. In America, about 443,635 people (age 12+) experience sexual violence each year. Nearly every minute, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Every nine minutes, that someone is a child. 7

Like what America HAS BECOME – the Sodomites were not ashamed of their social or sexual values and actions. With their smug and self-assured PRIDE, the inhabitants came to accept what to them was an “enlightened” and “free morality.” Again, they screamed in their streets, “No one has the right to tell me what to do or be!” They became enraged against Lot when he told them of their wickedness – cf. Genesis 19:9.

Our God’s word warns us of such false ministers and “scholars” that are leading people astray from His truth ──

“ … ‘O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths.’” – Isaiah 3:12.

“For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed.” – Isaiah 9:16.

Church leaders and scholars who blatantly ignore what the clear and plain teaching of the LORD God is leading others to destruction ── and to ultimately, their own.

Sadly, despite what most people are now claiming, this “modern morality” is immoral. And they will not come to the knowledge of the truth of the LORD God. □

Do We Have an Immortal Soul?

The very concept and idea of an “immortal soul” did not come from God’s living word. FEW BELIEFS of nominal Christianity are “religiously held” than that of the doctrine of an “immortal soul.” Nearly everyone is familiar with the concept. And the average person who claims to be a Christian ── or even a person of many of the other plethora of religions around the world ── if asked, would certainly answer something like ── 

‘The immortality of the soul is eternal and has existed before our physical birth and continues after death. For death is a journey where the “soul” transcends to a realm of perfection, undergoing judgment that determines its reward or punishment. Even the worst vices cannot completely destroy the “soul.” The “souls” existence is fundamental to understanding life and morality.’

There are some who believe that the “liberated soul” is reborn into a new body in a series of “reincarnations” or “transmigrations.”

Some form of this concept is found among nearly all peoples and religions around the world today. Like the concept of “going to heaven” upon death, most religious people just take this concept for granted.

Even though science was conducted in 1907 on a human body losing weight upon death ── specifically 21 grams ── by Duncan MacDougall (the experiment is now widely regarded as flawed and unscientific due to its very small size and inconsistent results), how, then, can one know whether or not a person has an “immortal soul”?  

Well… from God’s living, immutable word ── of course.

Let’s see and hear just what God’s living Spirit has to say regarding this important ── yet so misunderstood concept ── the “immortality of the soul.” 

Derived From Ancient Egypt 

As Ripley’s famous tag line states, “Believe It Or Not!” the very idea of a person having an “immortal soul” long predates the very founding of many of the religions of today.

As far back as recorded time, mankind has been concerned about death and an afterlife. 

Ancient Egyptians were greatly concerned about death. And their attempts to solve the enigma of life and death went far and wide. They believed that death led a person to the afterlife, where he/she would lead an immortal existence. But, for this afterlife to happen, it was necessary to preserve the body of the deceased, so that the soul could identify the body that it belonged to. 1 

Every civilization that has ever existed, including down to our 21st century, has pondered life and death. And nearly everyone has their own ideas and opinions on this most vital and important subject.

Why is there such grave (no pun intended) confusion? 

The ancient Greek historian Herodotus of the 5th century B.C. wrote ──

123. [...] The Egyptians maintain that Ceres and Bacchus preside in the realms below. They were also the first to broach the opinion that the soul of man is immortal, and that, when the body dies, it enters into the form of an animal. 2

This Egyptian idea was centuries before Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, or even Islam.

According to the ancient Egyptians, the concept of the “soul” and the parts that encompass it has varied from the Old Kingdom to the New Kingdom, at times changing from one dynasty to another, from five parts to more. Most ancient Egyptian funerary texts reference numerous parts of the “soul” ── 

    

The Ka was said to be a spirit replica of the man, containing the “vital force” given to him at birth. Then, at death, the Ka was believed to take up residence in a statue or a picture of the deceased. The statue or the picture was placed within his tomb exactly for this purpose. The tomb was to be the eternal home of the Ka.

Then there is the “soul” ── the Ba, which was held to be that part of a human that enjoyed an eternal existence in heaven. It was believed to fly to heaven with the last breath. The Ba 𓅽 was often depicted on tomb paintings as a human-headed hawk that was often hovering over the deceased's body. They believed that this Ba would often come back to “visit” the body in the tomb and to actually partake of the food and drink offerings.

The 1912 Jewish Encyclopedia Volume 6 says, “The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophical or theological speculation rather than of simple faith, and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture. … The belief in the immortality of the soul came to the Jews from contact with Greek thought and chiefly through the philosophy of Plato, its principal exponent, who was led to it through Orphic and Eleusinian mysteries in which Babylonian and Egyptian views were strangely blended, …” 4  (a 1912 source).

The Book of the Dead evolved from a tradition of funerary manuscripts that dates back to the Egyptian Old Kingdom. In the papyrus of Ani, the deceased is represented as having come to a place remote and far away, where there is neither air to breathe nor water to drink, but where he holds converse with Tmu. In answer to his question, “How long have I to live?”, the great god of Annu answers:– auk er heh en heh aha en heh. Which means, “Thou shalt exist for millions of millions of years, a period of millions of years.” 5

Truly, what better expression of the concept of immortality.

False Concept Passed to the Ancient Greeks

This false concept of the “immortality of the soul” didn’t stop with the ancient Egyptians. Notice again a statement from the historian Herodotus ──  

“The Egyptians say that Demeter and Dionysos are rulers of the world below; and the Egyptians are also the first who reported the doctrine that the soul of man is immortal, … This doctrine certain Hellenes adopted, some earlier and some later, as if it were of their own invention, and of these men I know the names but I abstain from recording them.” 6

The ancient Greeks borrowed the concept of an “immortal soul” from the ancient Egyptians and adopted it as their own.

The foremost advocate among the ancient Greeks to push this false concept of an “immortal soul” was the ancient Greek philosopher of the Classical period, who is also considered one of the main foundational “thinkers” of Western philosophy, Plato. A student of Socrates.

It was actually Plato who popularized this false concept of the “immortality of the soul” all throughout the ancient Greek world. 

Notice this statement from Plato from Phaedo ── 

“Life and death cannot admit one another, but one or other must either withdraw or be destroyed. The soul, which is always accompanied by life, can never admit the opposite of that which accompanies it; so it will not admit death. Therefore, the soul is “undying,” that is, immortal. What is immortal cannot admit death; so the soul is imperishable.” 7 

Plato's belief in the immortality of the soul is a central theme in his work. In his “The Republic” Book 10, He argues that the soul is immortal and imperishable, existing before physical birth and continuing to exist long after death. 

Arguments like these from such Greek and Roman writers as Polybius, Cicero, Seneca, Strabo, and Plato have led some historians to question whether Plato himself even believed what he peddled. The “immortality of the soul” concept, apparently, was a necessary companion doctrine because of the atrocious and terrible parts of their hell concept ── such as their “everlasting torture” in hell. Such fearful teachings, apparently, some philosophers thought, were necessary to scare the masses into being good citizens.

Well… regardless of the ancients’ true motives behind peddling this false concept of the “immortality of the soul,” Plato’s teachings had a wide-ranging impact ── especially on Western thought.

This False Concept Even Seeped Into Jewish Thought 

The Jewish communities of antiquity were also heavily influenced by Greek philosophy. Notice what the Jewish Encyclopedia reads ── 

“The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophical or theological speculation … and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture. … The belief in the immortality of the soul came to the Jews from contact with Greek thought and chiefly through the philosophy of Plato, its principal exponent, who was led to it through Orphic and Eleusinian mysteries in which Babylonian and Egyptian views were strangely blended” 8 (here is an additional source from 1906).

So… it may come as a surprise to discover that the concept of an “immortality of the soul” was not derived from God’s living word – the Holy Bible – but had come from Plato! 

Now surely, this professing Christian world would have a doctrine of the “immortality of the soul” that is in no way connected to Platonism?    

Well… consider this fact. Many of the early theologians and scholars of this world’s professing Christianity ── such men as Origen, Tertullian, and Augustine ── were in fact closely aligned with Platonism.

This Tertullian (circa. 155-220 A.D.) ── I’ve actually mentioned him before back in 2019, concerning the fact that he even condemned the pagan practice of celebrating Christmas. Yet, in his ignorance wrote ── 

“For some things are known even by nature: the immortality of the soul, for instance, is held by many; the knowledge of our God is possessed by all. I may use, therefore, the opinion of Plato, when he declares, “Every soul is immortal.” 9

Notice that he even mentions Plato! 

Also, notice this Augustine of Hippo (3 November 354 – 28 August 430) ── of whom we’ve mentioned before, that he was never a saint of our glorious LORD God. He has been held as one of the greatest “thinkers” of Christian antiquity. He, too, taught the nature of a human “immortal soul.” In the online Encyclopedia Britannica on Augustine of Hippo ── 

“Intellectually, Augustine represents the most influential adaptation of the ancient Platonic tradition with Christian ideas that ever occurred in the Latin Christian world. Augustine received the Platonic past in a far more limited and diluted way than did many of his Greek-speaking contemporaries, but his writings were so widely read and imitated throughout Latin Christendom that his particular synthesis of Christian, Roman, and Platonic traditions defined the terms for much later tradition and debate. Both modern Roman Catholic and Protestant Christianity owe much to Augustine, …” 10 

Why would these early professing Christian scholars resort to agreeing with the opinion of pagan Greek philosophers concerning an “immortal soul”? Could it be that this false concept cannot be found anywhere within God’s living word?

What God’s Living Word Truly Says

The Apostle Paul ── under divine inspiration ── once confronted some Greek “thinkers” on The Areopagus, which served as a meeting place for the Areopagus Council, which was one of the earliest aristocratic councils there in Athens (Acts 17:15-34), turning their philosophical ideas against them.

To the Greeks in ancient Colossae, he wrote ──

“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” – Colossians 2:8.

Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself warned us of “’ making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. …’” – Mark 7:13. The Apostle Matthew records for us our Lord Jesus saying, “’ Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: 8) ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. 9) And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” – Matthew 15:7-9. 

Also, let us briefly go back to the Book of Genesis, and keep in mind that this world’s professing Christians have received doctrines handed down to them from the ancient Egyptians and then from the ancient Greeks, such as Plato, concerning a false concept of an “immortal soul” ── which is nowhere found in God’s living word!

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living [soul].” – Genesis 2:7.

So, ponder upon this carefully: Man, formed of the dust of the ground, from physical matter and not out of spirit ── “became” a living soul. So, a soul is what a man is. It is not something within a man. 

Keep in mind that the Old Testament was originally written in the Hebrew language ── with just a smattering of Aramaic. The Hebrew word for “soul” here in Genesis 2:7 is nepeš, which means “life force, a creature or person as a whole self, even corpse.” It designates temporary physical life. It means a living, breathing creature or person.

Notice this example ── 

“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: …” – Genesis 1:24.

Again, the word “creature” in Hebrew here is nepeš. In fact, throughout the Old Testament,  the word “soul” the word in Hebrew is nepeš.

In fact, in Leviticus 21:11, Numbers 6:6, and Haggai 2:13, and a couple of other places, the word nepeš is used as a reference to a dead body.

So, the word nepeš clearly has nothing to do with any sort of spirit essence. The soul is not a separate entity from the physical body ── it is the body! Man is a nepeš.

In living truth, as an example, such passages as Ezekiel 18:4 and 20 declare to us that a nepeš can die! “’ Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.’” Now, if the soul was immortal, how could it die?

What about in the New Testament? Is an “immortal soul” spoken about? 

Again, keep in mind that the New Testament was written primarily in ancient Koine Greek, which was the common language of the Eastern Mediterranean during the 1st century A.D. The word “soul” in Greek is psychē. Like the word nepeš, psychē is translated “life, soul; a person.”

In the passages of Revelation 8:9 and 16:3, the word psychē is rendered “souls” as in the life of sea creatures. Strong's #5590.

The word psychē has no connection whatsoever with a “spirit essence” or an “immortal soul.”

In truth, our Lord Jesus Christ declared that God has the ability to destroy both life and body (the Greek psychē, or life) ── People have confused the soul with spirit. 

“’ And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” – Mathew 10:28, KJV.

Sadly, multiple billions of people who believe in the false concept of the immortality of the soul base their false ideology on this very verse. This verse should be translated ──

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but do not have power to destroy the life; rather, fear Him Who has the power to destroy both life and body in Gehenna.” – Matthew 10:28, NET.

This lake of fire (Greek gehenna) is a consuming fire that totally destroys the incorrigible wicked.

The words “immortal soul” are nowhere found in God’s living word. The word “immortal” only appears once in 1st Timothy 1:17 in reference specifically to our Lord Jesus Christ ── “the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God.”

Also, the word “immortality” is found in the New Testament. One of the places is 1st Timothy 6:16, which clearly states that of all human beings, our Lord Jesus Christ “only hath immortality.” The Apostle Paul in the Book of Romans teaches us that eternal life is promised to “those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality.” – Romans 2:7. If man already has immortality, why would the Apostle Paul admonish us to seek for it? Man is mortal.

Our Lord Jesus Christ clearly states ── “’ That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.’” – John 3:6. Man was not created with inherent immortality. Man only has a temporary physical existence. “ … ‘For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.’” – Genesis3:19.

Truly, only when a mortal man is “BORN AGAIN” in a future resurrection from the dead will a man finally be immortal and be spirit. Why would a resurrection from the dead be needed if the nepeš was already in the upper heavenly realm? The nepeš does not go to heaven. Again, the mortal soul ── man's physical life ── will die and will turn to dust.

God’s living word teaches a resurrection from the dead, in direct opposition to the pagan Greek false ideology of an “immortal soul.” A resurrection is our only hope of eternal life! Our Lord Jesus’s glorious resurrection was a type or forerunner of the resurrection that the LORD God promises to all who obey Him ── 

“’ DO NOT MARVEL AT THIS; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice. 29) and come forth ── those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of [judgment].’” – John 6:28-29.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes [on] Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26) And whoever lives and believes [on] Me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” – John 11:25-26.

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” – Romans 8:11.

“that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11) if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.” – Philippians 3:10-11.

Without the LORD God, a man will not live again. 

There Is A Spirit Within Man 

I’d like to show you a huge difference between man and animals.

The Prophet Job wrote – through the inspiration of God’s Spirit ── 

“But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding” – Job 32:8.

Animals do not have a spirit. Man needed this spirit to empower his brain with mind power - see 1 Corinthians 2:11. This human spirit enters the human embryo at conception. The spirit is like the “hard drive on a computer” – it stores information. The spirit essence is NOT an immortal soul or an eternal spirit. The spirit in man is NOT the man. It is something in the man. It has no life of itself. At death, it has no consciousness of itself, for it sleeps (1 Corinthians 11:30; 1 Corinthians 15:51; 1 Thessalonians 4:14). Like a tape recorder, it forms a permanent record of the qualities of mind and character built by a man during his lifetime. And much like a used tape is stored lifelessly on a shelf till activated in a recorder, so also does the spirit of man “return to GOD who gave it” after death, until the resurrection when life is again given to a person (Ecclesiastes 12:7). This was the way that our Lord Jesus Christ – through His servant – explained it to me and I hold fast to this that is good. Furthermore, the spirit in man was transmitted from Adam. Spirit comes from the father from a sperm cell, from Adam, all down through all humanity. □

Roman Catholic Priest Promotes LGBTQ+ !

California priest says God is ‘proud’ of ‘LGBT Catholics’ during homily at ‘Family Pride Mass’ 

… David Andel told “LGBT Catholics” during a sermon for the Diocese of San Bernardino’s first-ever “Family Pride Mass” last month that God is “proud” of LGBT Catholics and their families. 

Andel, a priest in the diocese, emphasized during his homily that God loves and is proud of Catholics who identify as LGBT as well as their families for persevering in their faith despite “persecution,” per the diocesan news outlet Inland Catholic Byte. The June 28 Mass, which was celebrated at St. John Bosco Mission, was organized by Embrace, the diocese’s official “LGBT ministry,” to add a “Catholic dimension” to “Pride Month” and remind Catholics who identify as LGBT and their families that they are welcome in the Church. 

During the homily, Andel first underscored that God is proud of “LGBT Catholics,” who have remained in the Church despite the “persecution” they’ve experienced from other Christians. 

“Like any good parent, God is proud of you. God is proud of you for turning the other cheek; for forgiving seventy times seven, the same offenses and the same insults; for your love for your enemies and your prayers for those who persecute you; for persevering in your faith in spite of some Christians who don’t give you posada and want you to go elsewhere; for your courage, your love and your compassion for others; for your insistence and confidence that you are indeed beloved and belong in the Church.” 

The priest then stressed that God is also “proud” of the parents of “LGBT Catholics.” 

“And God is proud of you parents for loving your child unconditionally, that is, with no condition that they be the way you hoped and prayed they would be or that they love whom you want them to love; for defending your child – physically, verbally and morally; for planting the seed of faith in your child, watering it with years of prayers, and waiting patiently for it to bear fruit. You are God’s beloved children, in whom God takes delight.” … 

While Andel is correct that God unconditionally loves all people, including those with same-sex attraction, and the parents of LGBT people are called to also show compassion and love toward their children, the priest omitted any mention of Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction.

Now, as far as having this unhealthy “pride,” notice the LORD God’s living word ──

“These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 

17) A PROUD LOOK, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18) A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19) A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.” – Proverbs 6:16-19. 

I capitalized the fact that the LORD God hates unhealthy pride.

According to Psychology Today, there are 8 Crucial Differences Between Healthy and Unhealthy Pride. Be sure to read this. It’s an interesting study.

As far as “a lying tongue,” the LGBTQ+ and their supporters all assert that there are more than two sexes with human beings ── I’m not sure if I can list them all! Well, there are only two sexes. Also, they claim that they were “born that way.” No. They weren’t. In many of our articles, we speak of the fact that it was, at one time, considered to be a mental illness. 1

As far as “hands that shed innocent blood,” the LGBTQ+ community generally supports abortion. 

As far as “a heart that devises wicked plans,” the overarching goal of the LGBTQ+ and their supporters is utterly vile and evil. Their “equal rights” agenda is akin to socialism. Again, Psychology Today ── Let’s Get Real About Equality! “No one is created equal – let’s get that out there from the get-go.”

As far as “feet that are swift in running to evil,” just watching them in their “Pride Parades” shows their swiftness in running to evil. 

And let’s not even speak of these Drag Queens reading to our children during story hour! Or, the other forms of perversions, despite the LGBTQ+ and their supporters saying, “O, no. It’s normal.” No. No, it’s not ── it’s sickening!

The LORD God’s living words ── 

“For behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, … ‘The look on their countenance witnesses against them, And they [proudly, I add editorially] declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.’” – Isaiah 3:1, 9.

According to the Apostle Peter ── under the divine inspiration of the Spirit of God ── Sodom & Gomorrah were turned into ashes, condemning them to destruction, as an example to anyone who afterward would live as they had. In A Dying Nation, I speak of why Sodom, Gomorrah, and the other cities of the plain were destroyed. It was much more than just their LGBTQ+ lifestyle. Sadly, as we near the end of this present evil age ── this Sodom & Gomorrah pervasive immorality is growing like a cancer throughout the world! 

Some more living words of our great and awesome Creator God of what we should expect as we near our last days ── 

“But know this, that IN THE LAST DAYS perilous times will come: 2) For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, PROUD [again, speaking of unhealthy pride], blasphemers, disobedient to parents, UNTHANKFUL, unholy, 3) unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4) TRAITORS [and, we can certainly think of many of the Leftist Democrats here in America!], headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5) having a form of godliness but DENYING ITS POWER. 

And from such people turn away!” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5.

Now, those of us around the world who hold to the fact that sexual relations should only be between a married man and woman are considered “narrow-minded” by the LGBTQ+ and their supporters. 

Even though there are growing movements that are trying to erase the LORD God’s living, immutable words ── the Holy Bible clearly and plainly warns all humanity that homosexuality, lesbianism, incest, beastiality, pedophilia, along with cross-dressing are not only a sin, but are abominations unto the LORD God! ──

“Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 2) ‘Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘I am the LORD your God.’ … 22) ‘You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. IT IS AN ABOMINATION. 23) Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. IT IS A PERVERSION.’” – Leviticus 8:1-2, 22-23. 

“’ If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed AN ABOMINATION. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.’” – Leviticus 20:13.

“’ If a man takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, and sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, IT IS A WICKED THING. …’” – Leviticus 20:17. 

“’ A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so ARE AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD YOUR GOD.’” – Deuteronomy 22:5.

“THEREFORE God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to DISHONOR their bodies among themselves, 25) who exchanged the truth of God for THE LIE, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 

26) For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27) Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men COMMITTING WHAT IS SHAMEFUL, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. 

28)And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a [reprobate] mind, to do those thing which are NOT FITTING; 29) being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30) backbiters, haters of God, violent, PROUD, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,31) undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32) Who, KNOWING THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” – Romans 1:24-32.

The Roman Catholic Church, despite its “teaching on same-sex attraction” ── as does this Catholic priest ── compromises; again, KNOWING THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT OF GOD, they exchange the truth of God for the lie!

Sadly, the overall majority of our peoples worldwide seemingly despise the good moral teachings of our Creator God. This present evil age will not end well ──

“THEREFORE thus says the Holy One of Israel: 

‘Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them, 13) Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes SUDDENLY, in an instant. 

14) And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, Which is broken in pieces; HE SHALL NOT SPARE. …’” – Isaiah 30:12-13, 14. 

Sudden destruction is coming for the United States of America ── as well as our Anglo-Saxon descended allies, including JUDAH (the nation known as Israel). And, it will be far worse than anyone could ever imagine.

Texas flooding: At least 107 people have died from this terrible flash flood in Texas ──

The death toll from the flash floods that struck central Texas on Friday has climbed to at least 105, according to CNN, after surpassing 100 late on Monday. The majority of those killed were in Kerr County, where 84 people, including 28 children, have died. Many were at Camp Mystic when flooding struck early on the Fourth of July. The death toll is expected to rise further as search efforts continue into a fifth day. …

Sheriff says 87 bodies recovered in the worst-hit area. …

• Authorities have said at least 107 people have been killed in the flash flooding. In Kerr County, 87 bodies have been recovered as of Tuesday morning. At Camp Mystic, five campers and one counselor remain unaccounted for, officials said.

‘Fake Weather, Fake Flooding’: Republicans Are Spreading A Bizarre Conspiracy Theory After The Deadly Texas Floods …

Republicans, including Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, have accused the scientific practice of being used to harm and kill, with Greene proposing a bill on Saturday that would make weather modification, also called cloud seeding, a felony. 

“We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering,” she said one day after a storm dumped up to 12 inches of rain early Friday in parts of Kerr County, in central Texas, which is known for flash flooding.  …  

“This isn’t just ‘climate change.’ It’s cloud seeding, geoengineering, & manipulation,” she posted on X, without supplying any supporting evidence. “If fake weather causes real tragedy, that’s murder.”

Of course, when typed into your search engine on the computer, IN BOLD LETTERS, it tells you, “ Cloud seeding does not cause flash floods.” And, everybody goes… ‘O’, it must be a conspiracy theory then!’  😏 

Yet, as the following video by Bet You Didn’t Know asked ── could cloud seeding be intensifying weather unintentionally? And I say, Yes. It warrants intense investigation!

 

Sadly, the reality is ── these “experts” don’t know all the unintended consequences of “playing God” and manipulating weather.

The Leftist-Democrats, along with their proxies ── the mainstream media ── along with their go-to scientists, lust for their socialistic Green New Deal and will flippedly attack anyone who says different ── quickly calling it a “Conspiracy Theory”! 

They are a fool, and it is dangerous.

However, whether or not cloud seeding was directly, indirectly, or not at all involved in this tragic and terrible Texas flash flood, our prayers are with those families and friends of those we lost. God Bless. □

As they try to navigate the ever-evolving media and device landscape, it’s as difficult as it is important to strike the right balance between giving kids the chance to learn how to use technology and protecting them from the potential harm that early (over)use of smartphones and social media can doubtlessly inflict on a child’s development.

Given the complexity of the task at hand and the lack of past experience to draw from, it’s understandable that many parents are uncertain how to manage their children’s device use, screen and social media time.

And while they acknowledge the potential benefits of smartphones and social media, a sizeable share of parents would like to turn back the time for their children’s sake, according to a recent Harris Poll. 

As Statista’s Felix Richter reports, when asked which things they wished had never been invented thinking about their child’s experience growing up, more than half of the surveyed parents said they wished for their kids that social media didn’t exist. … the one thing parents wanted gone most for the sake of their children is online pornography, which more than 7 in 10 respondents hoped wouldn’t exist.

Most parents are rightly concerned ── because, possibly having gone through some of what their children may have to go through as they navigate this highly sexualized world ── they certainly do not want their children to make the same mistakes. And no, neither the title of this article nor its picture is a double entendre.

Pornography is becoming a major problem in society, with 61% of Americans believing it is morally wrong and negatively impacting society. 1

Impact and Implications 

The widespread use of porn is changing how adults relate to each other and view sexuality. Research suggests regular users may struggle with:  

• Unrealistic expectations about sex and relationships 

• Difficulty forming genuine, intimate connections 

• Changes in brain function similar to other behavioral addictions 

• Feelings of shame, anxiety, and depression”

Yes, pornography can become addictive, and it can be detrimental to a relationship.

Easy access to online porn is 'damaging' men's health, says NHS therapist 

Angela Gregory says more and more men in their late teens and early 20s are suffering from erectile dysfunction.

She puts the blame on people becoming addicted to watching online porn. 

There are no official figures, but she says a lot of the time it is via smartphones and laptops. 

“What I’ve seen over the last 16 years, particularly the last five years, is an increase in the amount of younger men being referred,” she said.

“Our experience is that historically men that were referred to our clinic with problems with erectile dysfunction were older men whose issues were related to diabetes, MS, cardio vascular [sic] disease.

“These younger men do not have organic disease, they’ve already been tested by their GP and everything is fine. 

“So one of the first assessment questions I’d always ask now is about pornography and masturbatory habit because that can be the cause of their issues about maintaining an erection with a partner.”

Please note: “There are no official figures.” While there is no single global dataset that quantifies the physical harm caused by pornography, several official reports and peer-reviewed studies have explored its potential effects. Such as ──

• Porn-Induced Erectile Dysfunction (PIED): Studies have found that some men, especially under 40, report erectile issues with real-life partners but not when viewing porn. 

• Delayed ejaculation and reduced arousal: Frequent porn use has been linked to sluggish sexual response and difficulty achieving orgasm with partners. 

• Risky sexual behaviors: Porn often depicts unprotected sex and extreme acts, which may influence viewers to imitate these behaviors, increasing risk of STIs. 2 

Those are just some of the potential physical effects of obsessive use of pornography. Pornography ── on the Internet or otherwise-- can certainly cause harm to women, men, teenagers, and children ── physically, emotionally, sexually, and spiritually. 

God’s living, immutable word WARNS us, through the inspired proverbs of King Solomon, the son of David ──  

“’ My son, if sinners entice you, DO NOT CONSENT. … 15) My son, do not walk in the way with them, Keep your foot from their path.’” – Proverbs 1:10-15. 

The pornography industry ── estimated at a yearly income of $100 billion globally ── uses various tactics to attract viewers. It operates much like mainstream media in terms of marketing and audience engagement. Such as ──

• Eye-catching thumbnails and titles. 

• Free previews. 

• Social media and influencer partnerships: Some creators promote adult content through platforms like X, Reddit, and MeWe (which is why we cancelled our MeWe page!) 

• Search engine optimization: Websites use keywords and tags to appear in relevant searches and draw traffic. 

Sadly, just typing in “pornography” in the Microsoft Bing search engine ── at the very top of the list is a pornographic site! Even with an adult filter ── SEARCH ENGINES ARE ENTICING ONE TO SIN!

“’ I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman [in a lustful way]. … 9) If my heart has been enticed by a woman, Or if I have lurked at my neighbor’s door, … 27) So that my heart has been secretly enticed, … 28) This also would be an iniquity deserving of judgment, For I would have denied God who is above.’” – Job 31: 1, 9, 27-28. 

NEVER THINK that one can view pornography in secret and the LORD God does not see your sin! ──

“ … be sure your sin will find you out.” – Numbers 32:23.

Our Lord and Savior, Master, and Elder Brother ── 

“’ You have heard that it was said to those of old [the Old Testament], ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ …” – here speaking of physical adultery.

Verse 28 ── “’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her IN HIS HEART.’” – Matthew 5:27-28. 

Many people will reason amongst themselves: I don’t lust after the people that I look upon or watch in pornography, therefore it’s not a sin.

First. Our Lord says lust is a sin. Porn, and any kind of erotica is meant to entice lust in your heart. Pornography has existed since… certainly since time immemorial. It is said that “pornography” as we know it began from a series called I Modi, or The Sixteen Pleasures. It has also been speculated that the images in I Modi may have been inspired by Ancient Roman spintria tokens ── which had pornographic images on them. From personal experience, before I was converted, it was virtually impossible to view pornographic or erotic images or videos without lustful thoughts. So, even if a person is not lusting after the individual in the photo or video, the person is still harboring lustful desires that are against the LORD God’s holiness.

The Apostle Paul ── 

“FLEE SEXUAL IMMORALITY. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” – 1 Corinthians 6:18.

The definition of sexual immorality is – and let’s break it down. “Sexual – “of, relating to, or associated with sex, or the sexes. Having or involving sex.” “immoral–not moral; broadly: conflicting with generally or traditionally held moral principles–immorally.” 

SEXUAL IMMORALITY IS A SIN AGAINST THE LORD GOD! 

Again, some may reason amongst themselves: Who sets what is moral and immoral? 

The LORD God! – cf. Galatians 5:19-23. 

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with our beloved Apostle Paul, is warning us against trying to provoke, stir up, or succumb to sexual lust. They are condemning PORNOGRAPHY in all its forms. 

The Apostle Paul’s instruction and encouragement ── 

“ … men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting; 9) in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves IN MODEST APPAREL, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, 10) but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works.” – 1 Timothy 2:8-10.

These instructions for behavior and appearance are linked to worship of God and to public witness.

Notice this also from the Apostle James ──

“Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

13) Let NO ONE say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.

14) But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15) Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” – James 1:12-15. 

We are warned that when we are tempted, if we are drawn away by our own desires and enticed, it can conceive, give birth to sin, and ultimately can bring forth DEATH if not heartfelt repented of. 

Like the addiction that comes from long-term smoking of cigarettes, pornography can become addictive. Avoiding and fleeing any sexual immorality, one is resisting temptation, and upon approval by the LORD God, will receive the glorious promise of the crown of life! 

“THEREFORE submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8) Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” – James 4:7-8.

Our mighty God ── the Amen, Wonderful, Counselor, Prince of Peace also has prohibitions related to pornography in the Old Testament ──

“He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, Who gestures with his hands, REFUSING BRIBES, Who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, And shuts his eyes from seeing evil: …” – it’s underscored to not find bloodshed and evil as entertaining. 

Verse 16 ── “He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given to him, His water will be sure.” – Isaiah 33:15-16. 

“’ For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an IMMORAL WOMAN, And be embraced in the arms of a seductress?’” – Proverbs 5:20.

“’ For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life, 24) To keep you from THE EVIL WOMAN, From the flattering tongue of a seductress. 25) Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, Nor let her allure you with her eyelids. 26) For by means of a harlot A man is reduced to a crust of bread; And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.’” – Proverbs 6:23-26.

“’ This is THE WAY of an adulterous woman: She eats and wipes her mouth, And says, ‘I have done no wickedness.’” – Proverbs 30:20. 

“Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, … 10) ‘This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, … 25) … ‘Because you have forgotten Me And trusted in FALSEHOOD. 26) Therefore I will uncover your skirts over your face, That your shame may appear. 27) I have seen your adulteries [including spiritual adulteries, the worship of false gods] And your lustful neighings, The lewdness of your harlotry, Your abominations on the hills in the fields. 

WOE TO YOU, O JERUSALEM!

Will you still not be made clean?’” – Jeremiah 13:8, 10, 25-27. 

People who view pornography are likely committing “lustful neighings.” In other words, the unbridled eagerness of animal passions; see Jeremiah 2:24; 5:8. A growing number of people are NOT ASHAMED of their immoral sexual desires, or how they dress. No one is to trick another in seeing their nakedness, or ── like what Bill Cosby was accused and found guilty of. Three counts of aggravated indecent assault. No one is to drug another to have sexual relations or see their nakedness. Both a male seductress (often called a rake) and a female seductress are denounced in God’s living word! 

Also, in Leviticus, chapter 18, we are told not to uncover the nakedness of a relative ── 

“’ None of you shall approach anyone who is near of kin to him, to uncover his nakedness: I am the LORD.’” – Leviticus 18:4-19. This would also include videotaping a relative who is naked or engaging in sex. In Ezekiel, the LORD God tells us that PUBLICLY uncovering oneself is an abomination unto God! – cf. Ezekiel 16:35-39. 

Sadly, in this present evil age ── pornography is pervasive.
